SHOP RULES & WHAT TO EXPECT
My mother was one of the founding Members of the National Groomer's Association. She is still my biggest fan, and if you are really lucky you could have the honor of meeting her in my shop! I have a tendency to be a perfectionist, I consider what I do to be a dying art ( there are zero regulations in the grooming industry therefore anyone can buy clippers and
open shop). I may ask you to be very quiet while I am grooming your baby because I am also teaching them what is expected when they are being groomed (this is for many reasons but mainly so they don't get scared- hurt me- hurt themselves). Unless alternate arrangements have been made, all appointments must be in by 10 am. All my prep work and bathes are done in the morning, and finish work is done after lunch. Most short hair breeds will typically be ready to go home before lunch so the shop is quiet for finish work on longer haired breeds. If I do not acknowledge you right away while I am grooming, please be very quiet. When they get excited, I have to start the process all over again which consumes time and energy for both the dog and I. If your dog is acting aggressively or screaming like l am going to hurt it, Please do not speak or make an effort to come to its aid as this will undermine their ability to see that I will not hurt them. If I need you to be of assistance, I will let you know how to help in the most positive way so as to still maintain a learning environment for your dog. I do not like to groom dogs that are tranquilized. Please, do NOT medicate your pet prior to an appointment unless otherwise instructed. This makes them more afraid, and dramatically increases chances of injury to your beloved dog and to myself. I have a waiting room and actually enjoy owners that want to stay and see what I do, but Please be very quiet. (Phones must be on silent. Dogs can hear the vibration and is very distracting to both of us)
I want to thank everyone who has given me the opportunity to get to know you and your dog(s), and for those still unsure please feel free to stop by and just observe the process. It is with love, compassion, and sincerity that I welcome you all. The coffee is usually fresh all day and the treats are free!
