Do you remember Kashi? The golden lab service dog was in the care of Kayonna Topp until this past summer.

In July, Paws and Effect took Kashi away claiming the dog was overweight. The organization claimed they would give Kashi back once the dog lost weight. Kayonna was devastated because Kashi helped her with life’s daily tasks and became a member of her family.

A couple of months later, Kayonna says her attempts to reach out to Paws and Effect about Kashi were met with silence. So she took legal action to get Kashi back in her possession.

In Late December, a Polk County judge ordered Paws and Effect to return Kashi to Kayonna.

Today, the two are reunited once again! Kashi and Kayonna are back together.
