Yesterday I had to pull my first calf alone. It was such a rush of adrenaline and I guess I used more muscles than I thought because today l'm so sore I can't hardly move. I'm so thankful I was there to help my girl Zelda G when she needed me. Thankful that she let me help her and that both her and the calf are well. I've always valued my veterinarian as a huge tool and resource but I'm much more appreciative of her now!

I have a heifer and bull (banded) bottle calf for sale.
The heifer is close to a month old and the bulls is 3 weeks. Full black angus.
Both have had nasalgen 3, vision 8 and trishield first defense the bull was given a CD&T shot as well. Both drink 3 bottles a day. They are eating calf starter and hay.

Pm me for price if seriously interested. I’d love them to go together so I don’t have to bottle feed anymore.

Another new heifer calf today, yep 2 1/2” of rain turned the cattle yard into mud. Grab the muck boots and daughter Lydia to get the pair to clean pastures.

Yep, calving as begun. Calving this time of year easier, no mud or extreme weather. Another few weeks they will be turned out in green pastures.

Instead of working cattle…a day of rest works wonders. So Saturday late afternoon we sat on the hillside and called the 150 head in and watched the sun set upon the ranch.

Spur is a working cattle dog, he’ll lay there and watch the herd if I’m inside or outside of the fence. Always by my side… everywhere.

Another month later after power outages in December....January bring water troubles with the well that required excavation to 9' of frozen dirt to be removed. Installed everything new from well cap to pressure tank and everything to operate the system. Filling the stock tank with the neighbors water tank and my truck on a very cold day. One of the cows is getting a good head wash during the watering, spinning her head with the eyes shut.

Not quite a week since this bull calf was dropped. Milk mouth is a good sign of a growing calf.
