Some Puppy’s 1st haircuts today! 📸💞
Cash & Tristan were both the sweetest, cutest bundles of energy!
And in light of having 2 puppy cuts in 1 day we’ll make this post educational for everyone to follow in their parents’ footsteps!
A puppy’s first haircut May be it’s most important for several reasons:
It introduces them to the full length grooming process, which is a huge step for a puppy who’s still learning what grooming is!
When done early (for these boys, between 12-14wks) it prepared them for making a happy relationship with the grooming process! Today these boys learned that although grooming can be scary, with many new smells and sounds, they came out ok, with lots of love and praise. They learned that grooming is safe!
It’s also important for your puppy that they be introduced while they’re puppy coats aren’t matted or damaged, so that their first experience won’t be a to the skin shave, which can sometimes be scarier than a longer clip.
Please remember your puppy’s first haircut won’t ever be perfect, because your puppy won’t be perfect while they’re still learning! Puppies are typically wiggly, defiant, bouncy, and love to give kisses- all things that make the risk of getting cut or nicked much higher, so a puppy’s haircut will look like it was done on a ~PUPPY~
