Bear and I have been together for a year and a half. He is an exceptional dog with a wonderful personality. He is named after another wonderful Lab that I grew up with. He is the youngest in a pack of seven dogs in the Danner family. He is kind hearted, smart, and always wanting to be the center of attention. Retrieving is his passion. He is always looking for something to pick up and bring to you so you can throw it for him. He loves riding along wherever the destination may be. It doesn’t matter if it is in the truck, the boat, or the ranger; he is always ready to go. He is a certified Service Animal to assist me with my medical needs and he is also trained as a blood trailing dog and deer antler shed hunting dog. He has successfully trailed 3 deer and attempted two trails that were three to four days old that did not end as a successful search. He found and retrieved a beautiful 10 point deer skull on one of the unsuccessful blood trails in October. Bear was able to go on a couple of duck and goose hunts in winter of 2018 when he was only 6 months old. He did a fantastic job with the deep water retrieves during the duck hunt and the goose hunt was a bust since we didn’t get the opportunity to take any geese that morning. Bear still did an awesome job staying focused and not trying to run around or play. He simply sat and watched the geese fly over us as we tried to call them in. The picture above is of him watching a flock of geese fly over us while at Arkansas Post one morning. Bear has become not only my companion, but my friend and protector. It always makes me smile when I pull up into the driveway and he comes bouncing up full of excitement that I am home because he know we are either going to take a ride or get to play fetch for a few minutes. My wife thinks I love my dog more that her sometimes. I laugh and tell her he definitely runs a close second! I hope you enjoy the pictures and videos of Bear on this page. I must warn you though, some of the images and videos may contain a harvested deer or bird and there may be blood in those pictures.
