I would bet this is the wood burning stove configuration that was in our home way-back-when. They used it for cooking, of course and it was the pre-furnace heating source for the whole house. We don’t have a fire place. This would have been it.

Still working. Grandmother passed it to me. No one else in the family wanted this Gem. It's takes some work but well worth it. 💕😍

As we head into water season across the country, training your puppy to come out the water when called is important.

“ In order for me to get him out of the water readily I need to practice this as a separate exercise. I let him go in, swim for a bit then call him out. I then let him go back in and repeat process several more times. This way he knows the fun isn't going to end every time I call him.

I use a long line but there are things to take note of when using one:

1) I keep the long line up in the air so he doesn't swim over it and get tangled.

2) I keep him out of the lily pads so he doesn't get tangled there.

3) I reward him when he gets to me every time!”
