Hello lovely friends it’s that time again! Transports are coming up fast 8/21 and 8/23, each transport should move approximately 15- 25 kitties! Each kitty needs a $25 silver ticket 🎫 to ride. The ticket covers a health certificate and their rabies vaccine. If you’d like to sponsor a specific kitty let us know when you donate leave a comment with the payment.
So without further ado meet one of the kiddos heading out- Dahlia, she was being born as her momma was surrendered to us by a sweet young college student who had no idea where to turn. Momma Orchid birthed 5 beautiful babies all who were just like her with Cerebellar Hyperplasia (wobbly cat syndrome). Basically born with an underdeveloped cerebellum due to exposure to Feline Panleukopenia (like Parvo in dogs) while in utero. We can only surmise momma Orchid caught the virus while pregnant and beat it. Dahlia and her siblings have no idea they are different they have an exuberant love of life and adore people. They find mischief everywhere and in everything 💗 we can’t wait to see Dahlia in a home of her own. Her siblings will be ready to go on transport soon as well!! Dahlia is heading to our partner at Atlanta Humane Society

When you have moderate to severe CH (cerebellar hyperplasia) but you don’t know you’re different. Sweet little Dahlia was being born as her momma was delivered to us. All of her siblings have CH to some degree. Most you wouldn’t know it unless you knew what you were looking for; but Dahlia is the unmistakably special one 💗
Today was “make a new friend” day at KK. Two cute little orphans who needed a buddy were introduced and this is how it went. After about 15 minutes of banter they settled into a friendship 💗 We always try to pair up babies so they can learn to be a cat from another cat; and not end up with Tarzan syndrome (single kitten syndrome).
Precious little Precious spent 2 days at the Ozark Veterinary Clinic for severe constipation. While you wouldn’t think that is something that could put a kitten in the hospital it can! She basically had an obstruction of fecal material blocking her colon and she stopped eating. Nothing going in and nothing going out spells disaster for a little one. So off to see Dr CJ who quickly admitted her and got to work.. Two days later multiple X-rays, enemas and oral meds and she’s finally moving things thru and her giant appetite is back! This little 1 pound kid can put away the groceries 😂

So little Leo sang a song of his people the whole way to Atlanta. He only quieted when he was in mama Kirstie’s lap, in her face, or on her shoulder 🤣😂🤣😂
Silly boy won’t last a day in Atlanta before being adopted !
Disclaimer- stunts performed by a professional - don’t try this at home 😁
Every time you donate you help us save more kittens. Alabama is in a kitten crisis of overpopulation and we are trying hard to save as many as we can! 💗 #teamworksaveslives #rescuekitties #spayneuter

So for the first time ever the Cat distribution system got me, I watched a kitten fall out from underneath of a car (right in front of me), saw her tumble and then get up and limp away 😿. So I turned around went back and picked her terrified little self up; and took her back to the Cattery. She’s got a pretty banged up left side and she’s got singed hair also on her side she must have been on the hot engine. We always seem to end up with banged up kittens. So she will see Dr Wes tomorrow for X-rays to hopefully find no broken bones; adding to our national debt to them 😫.
She ate good for us and seems to be in general good health.

Little brothers from other mothers, Wally & Marty both under the weather from tummy troubles. Don’t underestimate how bad parasites can make a kitty feel. We de-worm every 2 weeks on kittens 2-8 weeks old. And then sometimes it’s still not enough depending on the worms life cycles/hatching etc. These kids will be on the mend now after seeing Dr Wes for vomit/diarrhea. Even your indoor only kitty can still get parasites. Make sure to ask your vet to check for parasites when your kitty goes in for check ups and sickness.
We thought you’d like to see how mama Inez and her little girls are doing now. 💗 They have gone back to their original foster to continue to heal, thank you Rip and Karen. Soon they will get to go on a transport to find their forever homes 😻

Inez babies! Chowing down in tandem!
Turn up the volume for the slurp lol 😂
Makes us so happy and relieved that they are over the worst of it and onto recovery now 💗😻 mama Inez gained 8oz over night! She’s making up for lost meals!
Hallelujah 🙌🏻 prayers answered! When I got to KK Wednesday AM I was met with a kennel that Inez had turned inside out lol everything upside down! She hasn’t offered to move much in a week so I knew something was up. She was chatty and so were her babies! So I got her out to give her meds and to remove the feeding tube since a new one was going in; and voila she ducked her head and started gobbling the food I had prepped for her babies! As of today we are no longer critical with her and her babies; we have switched to recovery now! Hooray 😃 the worst is over!
Thank you for all the prayers and donations to help the vet bill. We can never do bare minimums for these guys, it is always whatever it takes to make them feel better. We are always on their side. It is a labor of love; some days are easier than others, but we all love what we do to help these innocent kitties. Thank y’all for believing in our mission as strongly as we do 💗
Welcome to momma Patti and her 4 little tributes to St Patrick’s Day! All born yesterday and of course will have appropriate names! We have been on baby watch with her for a bit and she sure surprised us yesterday 💗 Patti was heavily pregnant when we pulled her from a shelter and was too far along for us to feel comfortable spaying her, so this will be her last litter..

😿😿😿💝💝💝I have a sad to report. The damage done to this poor sweet boy was too much to fix his pelvis was shattered one vertebrae was broken and both hind legs broken beyond repair. There is no way I can understand after seeing his X-ray how this boy was even getting around. Needless to say we are beyond broken hearted.
Y’all meet Constantine the Great; we just pulled this precious 7 month old kitten who likely has been trying to get around with this “dead broken” leg for a while. Sadly his hips show muscle wasting from him not being able to get around well. He can urinate and poop on his own but can not hold himself up to do it; his broken leg is in the way and his good leg is weak. He is heading to Ozark Veterinary Clinic and Dr Wes will be evaluating his situation and planning a course of action. He going to need X-rays and testing for leukemia/FIV to make sure his body is strong, plus under anesthesia he will be neutered and get his rabies shot. The leg will have to go. It’s damaged beyond repair and thankfully he doesn’t seem to feel it. It’s just terribly in his way. He’s a loving, happy kitty who talks, purrs and makes non stop biscuits. And we love him already. Welcome to KK little buddy.

Cheri here, It’s so nice when your oldie (BB 2015 model) accepts newbie (Mitts 2024 model) and actually she pretty much demanded everyone accept and love her….
talk about a confident kitten!
How do yours get along?
Welcome to KK sweet momma.
Y’all this precious girl was thrown out of a car and left on her own. A Good Sam saw it happen and helped her but wasn’t able to get car info. Sadly this happens all too often. The worst part is this is not her first pregnancy, by the looks of her teats she’s had several litters and she’s only about a year old. Well this will be her last and she will get excellent care as will her babies. Then they will all find loving homes somewhere they will be appreciated.
Newest momma and kitten from our local shelter. The single baby has some deformities in her front legs which we will get checked out once they have settled in a bit more. Momma was pretty upset yesterday and was telling Linda and I where we could “stick it” that she was not impressed with her new accommodations at all! Moral of the story be cautious with these moms with babies as they can be very unpredictable and we always approach them with caution because you never know. As you can see at the end of the video she was warning me she had had enough. We always respect these mommas.
We have a happy to share! Chip who had his eye surgery has done exceptionally well. Dr Rippy did an amazing job of basically plastic surgery to maneuver his eye lids to help them not scratch his corneas when he blinks!
Well on top of that good news one of his pet nurses in the clinic fell in love with Chip more each time he visited and it was a mutual connection so Chip now has a new momma, Mallory! Happy life sweet boy!
