Following the life of the Sage Farm goats- Butterscotch, Rocky, Oreo, and Caramel. All of them are Nigerian Dwarf goats and live at Sage Farm riding.

They love hanging out with people and go on several hikes per week.

Someone needed some serious brushies with spring shedding! Rocky loves getting brushed and just zones out while getting brushed whereas the others don’t shed as much and aren’t really into it

Caramel doesn’t quite catch the concept of going for a hike (or maybe she does). Dan definitely got his workout today (her little legs just couldn’t make it up the hill and she was very sad that the others went up around the bend (she was very happy to be reunited)

Remeber how your mom said, don’t do that or your face will get stuck like that? Sweet caramel, who even amongst goats is not the sharpest tool in the shed. But she is super sweet, and damn can she wolf down food. Even the boys don’t eat like she does and they’re easily 2.5x her size!

Totes goats who won’t wear coats! But strawberry tops leftovers, are always welcome! (they don’t want strawberries, just the leafy top part) - just like when they eat a raspberry bush they ignore the berries and eat the thorny branches and leaves… the most voracious of them all is tiny caramel - that girl can eat let me tell you!

Uh, hello there seems to be a vicous predator trying to get in here? Maybe by combining our 1 brain cell we can figure this out collectively. Luckily after a short while they forgot why they were standing there and went back to goating… and Ani realized they weren’t going to come over to say hello like the horses did

The goats took a ride in the car to come to Friday night family dinner at the house. They like taco shells, and really love roasted corn. As alway lettuce is a hit!

The funny thing about goats is they rent big on sweet stuff when they attack a raspberry bushe they want the leaves not the berries. When they te some corn today they wanted the husks more than the cob itself. The best part was Rocky with a large carrot in the corner of his mouth looking like a little Winston Churchill with a cigar

To keep little miss troublemaker from continuously escaping. But as I started putting the extra fence up the girls hopped up on the wall and ran up the hill into the woods. Then butterscotch ran up as well. I had to get Laura and Lia to open the grain bucket to get them back in. But the cutest moment was later rocky started pulling my tool bag off the wall and had it halfway off when I yelled at him. He jumped down and then repositioned and pushed it back carefully to be back in place with his horns.

Got the whole herd out for a hike in the drizzle. The girls sort of understand the concept of a leash, and Oreo doesn’t stop talking the entire trip (this was a short 0.5mi round trip on the Mozart trail.

The boys entertained the crowds today at the Dedham Farmers Market while there were pony rides going on. Pretty sure that young lady doesn’t know that goat yoga is with baby goats not adults...
