And just like that…the nine year chapter of being a pet sitter and owner of a highly successful, Paws On Durham comes to an end. My final pet sitting gig has just concluded, and my heart is full of emotions. From the first class of 7 pet sitters to the last pet sitting gig, the entire chapter was an exquisite and fruitful undertaking that yielded many amazing experiences, hundreds of clients and thousands of sweet pets and so many fond memories. To my clients, I thank you for placing your trust in me and my team. We appreciate your hospitality and faith that we would care for your pets as you would. It means the world to me that you could go to work, on vacation or a night on the town without having to worry about your beloved pet(s). I take great pride in knowing that I was able to provide many team members employ and direction as they were in school or in transition into long term careers, and of course I value their support and friendship. I also recognize the many pets and valued family members that passed on while we were part of the caretaking family. Names such as Zeus, Huevo, Augie, Hercules, Weezer, Whisky, Miles, Horacio, Grimaldi, Olive, Cameron, and so many others that touched my being and were part of the Paws On Durham pack…I will always miss you and carry you in my heart and memories. As this chapter closes, I relish in knowing that I’ve done my part in caring for and being an advocate for animals. My heart is full in knowing that I have loved my career as a pet sitter/business owner and will continue to hold Paws On Durham as a great success in my life. Thank you to my loving wife for indulging me and supporting me in this journey. I also thank my God for affording me the drive, knowledge, and fortitude to make a career of my passion.
