Nicky's Second Chance Fund: Giving Hope, Saving Lives 🌟

At Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter, we believe every animal deserves a fighting chance. Nicky's Second Chance Fund provides the essential resources needed for emergency medical care that goes above and beyond our routine level of care. This fund is dedicated to restoring health and saving the lives of animals in critical need.

Animals like Mimosa. When Mimosa came to us, she was pregnant and in need of shelter. One of her eyes suffered scarring from a previous infection or illness that required further treatment. Mimosa gave birth on her 1st night at the shelter. To allow her time to acclimate to motherhood she was placed with one of our amazing Foster families so that her kittens could thrive. It was determined by our on-staff veterinarian, Dr. Lynch, that the best course of action would be to remove her eye.

As of today, Mimosa has had her spay and eye removal, and after a few weeks in recovery, she will be ready for adoption and her second chance at a happy, healthy life. Her babies are now weaned and ready to find their foster to adopt families.

We're incredibly grateful to the L. Friedman Foundation for their generous contribution to Nicky's Second Chance Fund. Thanks to their support, we are helping animals like Mimosa. who received the care she needed to survive and thrive.
