It’s finished! Yesterday my amazing husband surprised me and said we would be getting the pen I wanted to go off the big coop to keep my barnyard flock safe and secure. Isn’t he the best?! Right now my coop and pen setups are “done” and just need a few small tweaks and additions for the comfort and entertainment of the birds. I have one last expansion planned for an additional silkie pen but I haven’t reached the stage where it is necessary yet. I’m so excited that my little chicken farm is coming together so nicely and incredibly thankful to have such a patient and supportive husband!

We are expecting silkie chicks in early April! The eggs in our second incubator are all looking great and are right on track for development.

Egg-citing news this morning! I candled incubator number one and we have one Polish chick cooking away and ten fertilized turkey eggs that look great! Not sure about the brown eggs yet but I’m not writing them off yet either as it’s still early. What’s most exciting is this is our first home grown clutch bred right here on our little homestead farm. 🥰

We have eggs incubating! We are excitedly awaiting Polish, Polish crosses and turkeys in early April. We are expecting bourbon red and red bronze poults.
