As groomers we always hear “I brush my dog” however we still find tangles, clumps & even tight matting at the skin. Sometimes their lying about brushing, and sometimes they’re just not doing it right! We’ve made this video to show you the best way to brush your curly coated family member. You need to make sure you are getting all the way to the skin (not just the top part) & not yanking or pulling. If your pup does not “like being brushed” by you, they aren’t going to like it from us. Make sure to include the entire body in your brushing routine AND lots of treats and love! We offer slicker brushes, combs and a detangle spray in our lobby if you still need one!

Swimming aftercare is very important! Some tips you should know: -Brush and dry FULLY after swimtime! -When drying, use a scrunching motion rather than rubbing the fur. -Drying incorrectly causes breakage and kinking of curl patterns. -“Hot spots” can occur when coats are not dried fully. Especially with double coated dogs- fur will hold in moisture and bacteria, which can lead to fungus. We offer hot-spot spray in our shop! ->TIP: We suggest using a small hair dryer while drying your dog!

We put one of these mini snuffle balls in the goodie bags for Robins party yesterday. Incase you were wondering what they were used for, here is a little tutorial for you! They are brain enrichment toys! You put some small treats in the flaps and your dogs need to “hunt” and work for the treats which stimulates their mind. These are handmade by one of our owners, and we also have bigger ones for sale!
