Unfortunately it's foxtail season again 😞 Foxtail plants are a weed-type grass that can cause serious problems for animals!
Ear infections, nosebleeds/rhinitis, pyothorax, abscesses and tetanus are just SOME of the serious issues that can come from these little guys! If you notice your pet repeatedly sneezing, pawing at their ears, coughing or acting uncomfortable, these could be signs of a possible foxtail and should seek medical attention as soon as possible.
Watch the feet as well!

I can't take it to the beach for a walk because it bothers you on your vacation, you don't allow me to rent a house if I have a dog, nor can I put it on urban public transport.
However, I can take him to the rubble to look for you after an earthquake, in the forest after you got lost in the mountain and you had no map or GPS; under the snow, because you did a forbidden off-piste; in the water, because despite the red flag, you have bathed and wherever you need to, because finally, it is just a dog ... but he will find you.

I have one, she is an excellent protector and great family dog that is very loved. She does look rough. They will!! They are not neglected! They will do a perimeter check and can by a mile or more from they're flock. They're not lost! Leave them be.

Its that time of year again to let everyone know….

Just a friendly reminder to those that may not know.

There are sheep on the mountain. This means they are usually accompanied by two or three guard dogs (often Pyrenees). These dogs are not pets, they are not lost, and they are not starving. Yes, that includes puppies which are often times raised with the flock. The dogs are fed and cared for by a nearby shepherd that leads the flock around the mountain.

Let them do their job and protect their flock. The dog may walk or stand in front of your car if it perceives you as a threat.

In the state of Wyoming this is theft. The sheep herders wouldn't take too kindly if they found their dog had been brought to an animal shelter by someone. (Picture for reference).
