To help pay for the kennel expenses I sell Mushing equipment and sled dog rides to interested individuals. (ALL TRAINNING AND PERFORMANCE RECIEVED FROM THE DOGS IS DONE IN A HUMAIN MANNOR IN ACCORDANCE TO P.R.I.D.E. AND THE IDITAROD TRAIL COMMITIE). At this time I have a few dogs up for sale that I am weeding out due to physical limitations. These dogs are perfectly sound performers and healthy. O
nce these dogs have the chance to get to know you they become very loyal, loving and dedicated to there human owner. Keep in mind that these dogs were raised as work animals and have not been socialized with other’s much; therefore they do not take to strangers easily. (These are not family dogs, nor indented to be pets). I wish that these dogs are well place with other Mushing kennels that are performing at there level for a long term placement. Individuals who purchase these dogs need to have the facilities and means to care for such an animal. You need to be able to hook up these dogs every other day in a harness to work them for a couple of hours. Maintaining a racing kennel can be quite expensive so we do accept sponsorships and donations that we recognize and appreciate dearly. My short term goal is to enter and race ether the Iditarod or the Yukon Quest in 2014 or 2015 depending on the team status (both are equally as hard); where all of my supporters will be publicly recognized both at the banquets and during the race. I am running young dogs of proven bloodline in the next two years that should prove to perform equally to the top performing teams. What we need from our supporters. We can always use a helping hand at the kennel from those who wish to participate in the long tradition of Dog Mushing. I am looking for a dog handler who is willing to live at the kennel. As for the kennels financial needs we need $3000 dollars in repairs to our dogbox truck. We could also use a new dogbox to put on the bed of the truck to transport the team to the vet, races, and other meeting place where we interact with the community. Since we intend to grow in number of dogs substantially to build an adequate team we can always use the help with providing dog houses, chains, IBS dog clips, and other supplies to keep up on the maintenance. In most cases we buy our equipment at wholesale rates to help reduce the overall cost; then we manufacture the equipment needed in my shop. Thank you for your time and all of your support. My best regards. Matthew Coughtry
