RCR boasts a welcoming environment for every level of riding, in any discipline. We offer In-house riding lessons for beginners and intermediates.

Thank you to Sam Vanfleet's Mustangs for an incredible day. We had a great group of ladies and horses show up and give it their all today. We learned tricks (the laydown, spin, backing from behind), the draw, side passing, different types of backing and much more. It was a full day of fun out here.

We checked a big item off the list today ✅️

Thank you to NK Dirtworks LLC for the amazing work adding sand and leveling the arena. This is a huge investment for us and a long time in the making.

We spent the weekend making memories out here. We hosted an adult Easter egg hunt yesterday- so many clients and friends showed up, and had a blast! Definitely looking to expand on this event next year. 🐰

Also, the cutest cowgirl and her entourage showed up for a riding lesson 🐴🧡

We are so excited (and lucky!) to welcome Bubbles to Rodeo City Ranch! Bubbles is the ultimate 4-H/pony club unicorn, who is coming out of an early retirement in order to help teach kids how to ride here at the Ranch.

Bubbles is available for beginner and intermediate english/Western lessons this spring and summer. His schedule is already filling up, reach out to us ASAP to get on his list!

We haven't wasted a minute of this good weather this last week. It's been spring cleaning and projects galore out here. We have a couple new additions coming to the ranch in the next couple weeks that I cannot wait to share about soon.

It was Central Washington Equine Hospital day out here at Rodeo City Ranch!

Coordinating as a group to stay up on critical vaccines and medical procedures is a plus of boarding at a facility. We are lucky to have such a great group of boarders that are all willing to help each other out on a busy work day.

Fun fact, we had two feet of snow on the ground during vet day last year in February. Grateful for sun this time around. ❤️🐴

Carpooling with horses? Well that's how we're beating the winter blues out here. A quick 5 minute drive is worth it to get back in saddle at the fairgrounds with a fun group of gals. ❤️🐴

Exciting milestone for RCR: we are offering a part time position for barn help. I'll post more formally in our local FB groups, but if anyone knows of a college or HS kid that would like to make a little extra money on holiday break this winter please send them my way. Flexible hours and offering $15/hour for feeding and $20 per hour for cleaning paddocks.

In other news, the arena is still holding up so far this winter. We've had back-to-back clinic weekends here. Riding lessons with friends is a fun way to burn off a few Thanksgiving calories 🦃

RCR showed up to the centennial Ellensburg Rodeo this weekend! Several boarders either volunteered their time and/or participated. It was so much fun seeing these girls out there. I'm hoping RCR can officially be a Rodeo sponsor next year, big goals!

The Ellensburg horse community is amazing, and we are so lucky to have been a part of the centennial Rodeo. 🐴❤️

RCR is offering several dry camping sites for the Ellensburg Rodeo this year. We are located less than 5 minutes from the haul-in parking lot on the John Wayne trail for exhibitors, so a perfect spot if you're looking to keep your rodeo horse off site for the weekend.

Horse Camping:
- Easy access for LQ trailers
- Hot wire paddocks on grass
- 2 dry lot paddocks available

RV Camping
- Easy access and turnaround
- Vehicles must be fully contained

We are a busy equestrian facility and several boarders will be participating in Rodeo this year. This is a great hub for offsite Rodeo participants and vendors.

$75/night flat rate, +$25 per additional horse per night. We can accommodate large groups and discuss group rates directly.

It was a hay day out here!

Brand new Orchard grass from Nelson Hay and Cattle Hauling LLC. I love providing my clients with high quality hay from Kittitas Valley. We buy hay from a couple different hay vendors (shoutout to Nearlya RANCH LLC) and it's all very high quality.

Side note, I'm learning to run hay equipment...maybe we'll have Rodeo City Ranch hay one day!

RCR update:

We are at capacity for boarders and have a waiting list. When we started RCR a little over a year ago I never would have imagined the incredible little community we've created out here. Thank you to all my friends and family who are out here helping make this dream a reality. We've all been working super hard and the ranch is really starting to show it!

Riding lessons are ramping up for the summer! Our beginner/intermediate lessons are a blast. One of our lesson horses, Gus, had a big weekend last weekend riding sponsor flags for Bares and Broncs and then hosting a little girl's first ride ever the very next day! Our 3 lesson horses are all in drill team and rodeo this year, so we are managing busy horses and rider schedules.

Want to learn to ride?

In 2023, RCR is officially launcing a lesson program for beginner/intermediates. Whether it's a child's first experience with horses, or an adult wanting to get back in the saddle. Perfect for 4-H and adult beginners.

Our lessons involve a holistic approach to riding; such as learning skills on the ground, and how to properly and safely groom, tack up and handle a horse...in addition to getting in the saddle!

On this episode of "Are they dead or just napping?"

Although we love to see everyone thaw out on these sunny days, it's also prime colic season. Excessive rolling, laying down, and lack of appetite are the first signs of colic. With the change in weather, we make sure to monitor all our horse's eating and drinking extra closely.

It was a windy Saturday fixing shelters and getting cute ponies back where they belong ❤️ Spirit has been a trooper this week living in a different pen while we got her space sorted out. It took a small village but we did it! Ended the day with a toast with Spirit in her new and improved home 🥂🍾

It's thawing out a little here on the Ranch! Pumpkin is working overtime trying to keep the critters at bay. Doris is still keeping us on time for feedings, couldn't do it without her micro managing me 😂

Bringing in the new year with a long stretch of dark and rainy days. Our lighted roundpen is holding up so far and we've been working hard to keep all the horses as comfortable as possible. Spirit (below) is showing off her new stock tank heater, a must have during these freezing temps!

There are two boarding spots open:
*1 dry lot paddock with large shelter
*1 half acre pasture with shelter (can accommodate to 2 horses)

Price of board includes export quality Orchard and Alfalfa hay, we feed owner-provided grain, and shavings during the winter months. Trailer parking is also included.

It's already been a busy week out here on the ranch. With the recent Strangles outbreak in Kittitas County, we asked Dr. Lindley and Anndi from Central Equine Hospital to come out and make sure all of our horses were up to date on their Strangles and 5-way vaccines. We had 8 horses lined up and vaccinated in less than an hour! Our boarders showed up and helped too, it was a group effort. Here's to getting through the rest of the holidays without us or our horses getting sick! 🤠❤️

A before and after of the progress this weekend. This new pasture is going to sport a 20' shelter, perfect for two horses. The resident barn kitty, Pumpkin, made sure to supervise our progress 😁🐈 so you know it's done right! Hoping to have this ready for new boarders by December. So far we have two paddock spots left, please PM for details!

Lady is showcasing the exemplary breakfast in bed service we've been providing at RCR these past few days 😄

With temps dropping and the freezing rain we've had, it's been all hands on deck winterizing shelters and paddocks. With the wet weather, our horses are getting fed in their shelters to keep them out of the mud and rain (soon to be snow). Shavings are included in the price of board, and all the horses and have been loving the warm bedding!

Hildalgo won't let anything go to waste out here 🍽 🤤

We've been working hard out here getting pastures and paddocks prepped for winter. We had a contractor get our arena on their schedule for the end of november. Super excited to offer another well-lit area to ride. Right now we have 2 spots available, a .6 acre pasture and 1 dry lot paddock. PM for details!
