Wee pig aka Miss Piggy was brought to our rescue originally as a foster in 2018. When she first arrived she had a terrible case of pneumonia which she nearly died from. But she is a fighter. She fought then and she is fighting for her life again now... But she needs our help.

July 17th: Please consider donating to our gofund.me to help Wee pig. At this point we are unable to provide any additional vet care for her.

PLEASE HELP. Wee pig isn't getting worse but is not improving on her current course of treatment. We don't want to give up on her and she doesnt want to give up either! Yesterday when we were giving her water, she got so mad when we took the bowl from her.... she just wanted to lay in the cool water despite her being disabled ....she just so badly wants to be a pig.

I would love to take Wee to the University in Pullman but I have already spent well over $800 on vet bills. We are a small rescue caring for 34 pigs and do noy have the resources. I do have a gofund.me for Wee. If we raise enough money, she will go to the Univeristy for further treatment.

Her treatment to date: (7/17/2024)
She was on penecillian 6ml for 7 days. then Oxytetracycline for 7 days. Now as of July 17th she is on the antibiotics Certiflex, Prevail and Enulose with vit b12 and nutridrench supplements (if she doesn't spit it out) and approx 400 to 600 ml liquids being administered rectally every 12 hrs but. sometimes I can get her to drink on her own. PT is always being pushed back until she gets her strength back up.

I am also only able to get her to eat apples and granola bars. She will not touch her pig food. Not even when mixed with expensive tasty yogurt.... do any of you have any suggestions??

Wee originally had Erysipelas and the sores have cleared up but she is now breathing heavily and still not wanting to get up. At the time of dianosis she had a severe case of erysipelas which caused issues to her neurological system in her back legs/back and her liver. She was septic. But she is a little fighter.

7/6/24 She is now coming off basic "life support" and we are on to maintenence care. So we are going to start PT. She doesn't have the strength to get up and walk herself so we need to work up to helping her strengthen her muscles along with supplemtents etc. She can sit up on the front legs, but nothing on the back.

We have continued Wee pigs treatement and she seems to be improving!! She is now able sit up on her own and is eating quite aggressively! Her erysipelas (which is a skin disease) is scabbing up-a good sign! I posted new photos below of her grabbing for an apple. Update as of 7/3/2024. We have raised 445$!!! Thank you so much! HOWEVER We still NEED YOUR HELP! Each time Wee has gone in, it has been an emergency visit. This treatment for Wee has a total cost of over $800 which includes 2 emergency visits, blood work, medication and diagnosis.

Wee pig blood work came back with diagnostic and treatment:

1) Erysipelas: which we have been treating her with penecillian for 10 days. However it has been ineffective, so we are switching treatment to Oxytetracycline as of 7/3/24

2) Septicemia (Blood poisoning) She was given Baytril to treat this with a 1x injection on 6/24/24 & 7/3/24

3) Liver Infection- she is being treated with Lactulose 3x per day orally to help treat this infection.7/3/24

4) Dehydration: she will be receiving 4 bags of saline fluids rectally so we can get her hydrated super quickly!!! She isn't drinking enough on her own, and she isn't quite loving this part.

5) Neurological Issues (poor equilibrium): the other treatments will help with this but Wee is also being treated daily with a shot of Vitamin B complex 1x daily to help support her nerves, help make red blood cells, and support her immune system by helping make white blood cells.

The $800 total does not include the amount of costs that has been incurred to take time off of work to get her Valley Vet or to care of Wee Pig round the clock here at the rescue.

We will also incur additional expenses to vaccinate and treat all of the other 32 pigs here at the rescue against Erysipelas as it is an extremely contagious disease. Please consider donating to our gofund.me. Our goal of $2500 is for medical expenses for the rescue, as we have no reserve.

Wee pig has unexpectedly fallen ill. She has lost the ability to walk but still has feeling in her back legs so she is not paralyzed. Wee has been treated for the past week with steroids and penicillin to help with infections to see if that would help, but her condition is worsening and her body is getting weaker. She is going to need additional testing which the rescue does not have that type of funding to move forward with.

PLEASE. I am asking for help to save Wee Pig. I was already told that, without further diagnostic, if this current treatment does not work, I will be looking at the possibility of putting her down. I am not ready to do that until all of the possible options of treatment are considered. Wee is only 7 years old. She is one of 33 pigs we care for here at the Pigture Perfect Rescue And Sanctuary .

Wee is still eating and loves us sitting with her and petting her. She still talks to us when we come in the room and yells at us when we give her shots. She isn't done with this life. Please help us. We don't want to give up her yet. She is one of the favorites here at the sanctuary and loves everyone. She deserves to have a chance.

We are starting something new! Every TUESDAY, We will be highlighting a different animal here on the farm.

In 2017, Precious Pepsi, (13 years+) a senior resident of Pigture Perfect, came from a “pig mill” which is like a “puppy mill”, where she was repeatedly bred and confined in a filthy enclosure where she ate, slept, and defecated—a prison-like environment!! Her piglets were removed from her much too soon after birth, and she never had the chance to establish a relationship with them. These were the conditions she lived under for the first five years of her life. Because she spent so much time in the cage, her hooves are now permanently damaged and deformed. She was treated like a commodity and never shown any care or concern by those who provided her with food. Living in the pig mill "prison" deprived her of any opportunity for a normal existence. She had never known what it was like to be a free pig—to eat grass, feel earth beneath her hooves, or root in the mud. Even after being with us at Pigture Perfect for 7 years, Pepsi has never been able to form any significant relationships, whether with humans or other pigs. She is still on the road to recovery, and adoption is not the best option for our girl, which is why Pigture Perfect will be Pepsi’s forever sanctuary.

Although the water source is no longer a problem our once nice clean DRY barn (like the first video taken less than a month ago) is now a a foot under water!!! I have lived here for 10 years and this is the first time the barn has EVER flooded!

We are trying to figure out alternatives for emergency temporary dry shelters for the pigs at this cold wet time.

Update: 12/26/23- all 4 of these little boys are still looking for their family. 🥰

Hi all! We usually only take in farm animals... but in late September, we took in our first foster dogs Mama dog and her young son (they were living underneath a travel trailer eating nothing but trash...). We found a home for her son but on November 9th, mama surprised us with 8 beautiful cheweenie babies! (4 of the 8 have found homes).

They are ready for new homes January 9th 2024. Prior to adoption, we are asking a small rehoming fee as well as a signed contract which includes getting them spayed/neutered.

The 4 available are black and white and all 4 are males. Please text me at 509-312-0880 if you have questions or you are interested in meeting them.
