Spiral Flow Yoga tonight at 5:30 at The Spiral Goddess Collective, a Center for Mind/Body Movement Downtown Bangor

There are so many different kinds of yoga. This class is a great class for beginners--and for everyone!

People with chronic pain and injuries have found that regularly attending this class helps to ease their pain and renew their quality of life. When we are able to commit to treating our bodies (and body/mind/spirit!) with care and attention we reap many benefits--less anxiety, better sleep, and less pain as well as better balance, endurance, strength, flexibility, and more!

Last week I got to meet this sweet boy named Tuffy. When his parents left I explained to him what my role is, and promised him my undivided attention and unlimited belly rubs during my stay. He took it upon himself to make sure I stay true to my word! 😄

Jelly wants to remind everyone that we are currently CLOSED until further notice. We are not able to accept new clients this season. We will be slow to respond to any email or social media inquiries for the month of June. If you are an existing client local to Bangor or Ellsworth, you may reach me by phone and I will do my best to accommodate your needs, but only able to book overnight stays on a limited case-by-case basis.

Thank you for your patience at this time

Quill Myths and Facts:
- Do not trim quills. It is does not make it easier to pull out. It does not deflate the barb. It makes it harder for our team to pull them out.
-Do not soak quills. Softening the quills that are visible makes its easier to break. This means we are more likely to leave barbs or quills under the skin and will increase your pet's risk of abscess formation and buried quills.
- porcupines can not throw or shoot quills at you. You have to touch them/attack them.
- It is an emergency if they are near the eye, in the mouth, and located on the chest. Quills can puncture into the chest cavity and lungs. This can cause a life threatening situation where there is free air around the lungs, making it very hard for your pet to take a breath. This medical condition is called a pneumothorax and can require tubes in the chest and lead to life threatening infections in the chest cavity called a pyothorax.
-Don't let your dog paw at their quills. Breaking the quills can make it harder to pull out. It can also increase their risk of buried quills and long term challenges.
-Ingested quills can puncture the gastrointestinal tract and lead to life threatening illness. Do not allow your pet to paw at the quills in their mouth or bite at the ones they can reach to avoid this problem.
-Do leash walk your dogs at dawn and dusk. The porcupines are out and about. Even an innocent sniff from a dog can lead to significant quills.
-Most quill removals require sedation and can take any where from 45 minutes to 3 hours for full removal and recovery.
-Just because your dog "knows better" doesn't mean they can't change their mind! This is a 12 year old dog who has never bothered a porcupine his WHOLE LIFE but decided that he would check it off his bucket list!

Pets Beware:

Elli has always been an outstanding sitter while my family is away. She's nice, she takes me on fun adventures, and she even shares her pizza crusts with me (as long as I'm polite).

But today, the unthinkable happened. She called me "stinky." And then, she lathered me in soap and took all of my winter's musk away. I have been working on developing my scent for months. Months!!! And now, I smell like freaking coconuts and oats 😫

Even after all of that, says she wants to "blow dry" me so I'm floofy and dry. No thank you. I'll stick with my preferred method of drying: grass and tick rolls. Life's much more fun that way!

I've been working with animals in one capacity or another throughout my entire adult life, but 2021 was the year I decided to start working with them full-time.

Kili was my very first client. My first overnight stay with her was April 7th of last year, and I have thoroughly enjoyed taking care of her when her family is away. She has the happiest, sweetest disposition and is an all-around wonderful dog.

I was so happy to spend time with her today, on our "Kili-versary."
We went for a very nick walkabout, played fetch to her heart's content, cuddled on the sofa, and this evening she enjoyed a special sausage-egg-and-cheese enriched bowl of kibble to celebrate the day :)

Funny thing is, Kili seems to celebrate every day. Here's to Kili, her wonderful family, and her little buddy, Mango, and her trusty flock of chickens

Ginger: Obviously. I must oversee all kitchen operations and taste test anything you may make during your stay.

🤷‍♂️ Okay, suit yourself!

Hello friends!

Baby Tenzin has a quick update in regards to service offerings as I continue to recover from this health crisis:

1. Day Services such as grooming, training, and pet portrait commissions will continue to be unavailable until further notice. I apologize for the inconvenience but I need to save as much energy as I can to devote to my recovery.

2. Overnight Services will be offered on a limited, case-by-case basis to existing clients. Due to the nature of my recovery process, I will need to centralize these services to the Bangor area so that I may access my healthcare providers, at least temporarily throughout the summer. I will ONLY be able to accept new clients who live in Bangor, Brewer, Veazie, Orono, Holden, Dedham, Eddington, Clifton, and Mariaville.

Thank you all for your support as I get through this major hurdle. I hope to be back on my feet and visiting all of your furry ones soon!
