This time of year, it’s hard to get out and do things.
But, do your best and try just lunging; it doesn’t take much and it keeps them in shape, and active!

Lots of lunging in the beginning. Teaching to move off pressure, follow the release of pressure and handle some pressure.

Mimosa’s last day is a time to relax, reflect and enjoy!

Freckles, (like many) is more relaxed, the more he understands.

First rides are much better when more time is given to preparation !

Bacardi, 2 year-old filly getting her first ride! First rides come after weeks or months of preparation. I prepare them with groundwork; simulating feelings and emotions they’ll have with a rider in the saddle. Making the first ride productive and safe.

Mimosa, a beautiful Palomino, (4 yo) adding to her training; Getting her more responsive and more comfortable with scary stuff !!!!

Ruben, a 7 year-old gelding with high levels of fear and the ability to buck pretty good, is now enjoying his first trail ride with me! Removing the fear and teaching them to move from pressure, takes whatever time it does.

Getting ready for riding on average takes three weeks of groundwork for a good minded 2 year old.

Thessus, 3 year old Mustang gelding (3 months training). Adopted and untouched a year ago! Today, the family checks out our progress!

Yearling colt project. Picked this one at the Enumclaw sale, Not because he was great looking, because he naturally moved from pressure, had a good attitude and his confirmation was pretty good. He’ll get better with good feed and exercise/training.
