Hi all, as Aimee mentioned in groups I am 5-7 days behind on milling Avian Health Shake. I have a congenital birth defects in my knees and also degenerative disk disease so I am doing the best I can as I know your animals depend on our feed. I am trying to find someone to hire to use the mill but getting people to drive out to the tulies to use a piece of equipment for 1-2 hours isn’t having much interest. My local feed store is trying to help find me a young man in the area and I am also continuing to look.
Sorry for the inconvenience and delays, best advice for the current situation is order ahead! I will be milling multiple batches tomorrow and try to get them out before the last post office in SE Portland closes at 3pm.
Medication, supplements etc are all going out same day, if ordered before 3:30pm PST as usual. If you order Avian Health Shake and a medication I will send the medication by itself if I can’t ship it that day with the Shake.

A bit of a delay in Avian Health Shake orders this week.
We have been seeking a new mill as CS Bell went out of business during COVID and we cannot get replacement burrs for our LaMilpa. The owner of CS Bell refuses to even share the casts with another manufacturer to continue to make parts… so we have been having to grind each batch of shake twice, once through the LaMilpa and then once through a commercial spice grinder. This is extremely time consuming. We have purchased a new mill, which was not an easy task as we need a “wet” mill due to the fats we run through it. The new mill grinds it beautifully, it just takes 5 hours for a batch vs 40 min. So anyhow, for today we are going back to the LaMilpa and running it though the commercial spice grinder so we can get yesterday and todays AHS orders out ASAP.
Our plan is to use this new mill, we just have to get a head start on orders over this next weekend, and send the burrs in from the LaMilpa to the machinist who made this mill and have him make us some replacements. Both mills were expensive of course, about the same cost actually.
Medication orders are ALL on time and going out as usual, same day if ordered before 3:30pm PST.
