It's been a busy few days with Church of Pug. Darla came in Sunday with a bad leg. I started unwrapping her bandage to clean her up and see how bad it was and bailed halfway down. No one expected how bad it ended up being (it looked like an eaten turkey bone, clean to the bone). She went straight to the ER for amputation. While she was hospitalized, we got to hang out with Mr W***y for a night, a 9-week old puppy who has a deformed/underdeveloped trachea and has episodes of passing out. Luckily, he didn't have any episodes while with us, and he's back at his foster's. Darla was discharged yesterday, and is doing so well! Today, we're getting some sun with the PlayDay crew! If anyone wants to help CoP with these 2's hefty medical bills, they have a few easy ways to donate on their page. ❤️‍🩹

We want to thank from the bottom of our hearts to all of you, our dearest family and friends, who have given so much love and joy to our Dolly Parton over the last 3 years. Our hearts are shattered right now, and I haven't had the strength to share, that our sweet, sassy, motherly, snortin, goofball of a Dolly Parton, passed away Thursday night. Doing what she always does - grabbing kitchen treats that fall on the floor. But the piece of apple was too juicy and too big. We tried so very hard to save her.

I know she was so deeply loved by all of you. She was definitely the most popular girl I will have ever known. I've met people who knew her, but not me, and that always made me laugh. Her absolute favorite thing was getting all of the attention from her humans. (and rubbing it in my face when she had new people to cheat on me with, because I'm always cheating on her).

She was my 5th limb, missing in so many photos and videos because she was behind the camera, always close to me.

I loved on Dolly lots, and I'm just wishing I could love on her more. Remember to take a moment to hug and kiss your stinky, weird & beautiful pups and thank them for being such bright lights in our lives. They are such good examples of how we should live in this life, and what's really important. I'm so thankful for the blessing God has bestowed on us in Dolly, in you all, and in God's good and noble creatures.

Anyone looking for their next addition? Apollo truly is the sweetest guy! We had the opportunity to watch him for a couple weeks - when he first came into rescue, and again while his foster was on vacation. (If you remember the video of the shaking, terrified pup in a kennel, this is him now!)

Hi! I'm Apollo. I'm POTTY TRAINED and I am READY for my forever home. So hello - if you're waiting for the most perfect boy I AM IT!!!

I'm about 2 years old and came to Church of Pug after I was abandoned and left for dead in the desert with my three brothers! Thankfully, I was saved by The Forgotten Dog Rescue in California. I came to Church of Pug because the PNW is just the best for dogs like me!

I'm the most sweetest lil pup ever! My heart is to please, so if I do something you don't like, it takes just once or twice with delicate correction for me to understand and correct. I'm most at home with other pups - especially dogs my size. I do OK with bigger ones but I'm not immediately as comfortable and need a little bit more guidance.

I get a burst of energy every night after I get put to bed and do the zoomie play before settling down. Check out my videos on my profile! I love playing with my friends and toys. I also love joining in on the cuddle-piles. I'm the typical pug who follows you around and doesn't like being separated from you.

Major perk alert - did I mention I'm potty trained!? I also know my name now and come when called.

The big thing I'm still working to overcome is I still can be uncomfortable with touch. My foster mom truly thinks I'll enjoy being petted someday soon, with time and practice.
