Workshop time again!

Join us in our apiary for early spring inspections. We are excited to take a look and see how the population is starting to grow again. Our swarm season starts in mid February, this means we can do hive inspections and show you what is happening, how to prevent swarming, maybe even catch one, or perhaps make some quick splits. This class is for beginners to early beekeepers looking to learn more about getting started, or coming out of your first winter.

Please wear appropriate beekeeping clothes and shoes. Avoid wearing black/dark clothes and strong scents. Bring your own veil or suit if you have one, if not, we have veils on hand. Don’t forget your water! We’ll have lots of information for you and it’s a great opportunity to hang out and meet other beekeepers in our area. Please register with the link and make sure I’m in your email address book.
We look forward to seeing you,
Becka & Brandon Hargraves

😍

Brielle learned a lot about pollination and why bees are so important. It doesn’t get much cuter than this.

Baldwin County Master Gardeners

Last night was another fantastic Tuesdays with Master Gardeners Evening. George and Phyllis Holman taught us about canning, dehydrating, and freezing food. They also brought delicious samples for us to taste. Nicole Nygaard spoke in the second hour about how to be a backyard beekeeper. She brought a demonstration beehive as well as beeswax and other items. Thank you to our speakers, the kitchen crew, Tanys Waldron, and everyone else who helped and attended the workshop.
