Its Heartworm Awearness Month. Here is some infomation to help keep your pet safe and healthy 😁
Zip loves to visit us! Such a happy pup!
We are running to Friday just like our buddy ARCHIE!

VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED!!!
Below is a microscope video of a tiny droplet of blood from a canine patient of ours. The tiny movements that you can see in the video are from microfilaria. Microfilaria are young larvae from a reproductive pair of adult heartworms. These tiny parasites are ingested by mosquitoes through a blood meal of an infected host (like the one in this video). The larvae rapidly molt/change and move to the mouthparts of the mosquito at which time they infect the next pet as the mosquito feeds with their next meal. DON’T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOUR DOG OR CAT!!
We are seeing more and more of this disease every year and it is preventable. Please get your pet family members tested today. If their test is negative, we advise that you start prevention immediately and continue it throughout the calendar year. This prevention also helps treat intestinal parasites that can be transmitted to people.

A special “Thank you” to the amazing staff at Choice Vets Pet Care. We are all so blessed to have you on our side. Thank you for making a birthday/work day so special :-)!
Love,
Dr. Ben
We found the tick on the left attached to a patient yesterday, Thursday March 1, and the one on the right dropped from a patient about an hour ago. THIS TICK IS STILL ALIVE even though there is still a foot of snow on the ground!
