W3PO Summits for the 2021 Season are in April and we are starting to get notices about which East TN Weight Pull Club dogs have officially been invited!

As we don't see a lot of snow down here, none of our dogs got to pull on it last year. However, W3PO invites dogs who qualified on both Wheels and Rails to compete on Snow at Summits!

We are so proud of the 12 dogs who have been invited from TN to pull on Snow at Summits!

Spiderman, Spiderman, Does whatever the big dogs can!

This month our Featured Puller is Spiderman! Spidey is a 7 lbs long haired chihuahua owned by Maddy Davis. He is a retired service dog who has taken up weight pull as his new pastime. This spunky boy is eager to please and has a lot of spirit. He proves that any dog can have fun with weight pull!

We are proud of all the pups who came out to pull at our Last Chance W3PO pull. From our first-time competitor to our seasoned veterans, all the dogs and their handlers put out an amazing effort! What a great way to wrap up the year!

Shout out to the pups who came out to pull today! We had dogs shatter personal bests, title, and pull at our rail track’s record weight!

Sansa, Arya, and Hudson pulled really well today in the windy/rainy weather! Thankfully we were able to avoid the really bad weather.

Tomorrow will be drier, colder, and we will have more friends come out to pull!

Meet Fuego, our featured puller of the week!

Fuego has a spirit that burns bright. He gives 110% effort, even when that effort is misplaced. The majority of the time, he is a hard worker and understands his job. He comes for the weight pull, but he stays for the people. His favorite thing about pulling is the attention he gets from everyone. He's been competing in weight pull for 4 years. So far he has earned his Weight Pull Superior titles on Rails and on Wheels for W3PO (his hooman is slacking on submitting paperwork).

Our featured puller of the week is Sansa!

Sansa is an American Pit Bull Terrier that typically weighs in around 60 lbs. Her birthday is this month!

Sansa was a stray just over two year ago but now she is one of our club’s rockstars! This sweet girl loves to pull and is very consistent. Sansa will be one to watch in the upcoming pull seasons! She is owned/handled by Joe Crowder, who says she is one of the best dogs he has.

Meet Petey, our featured puller of the week!

Petey is an American Pit Bull Terrier owned by Emma Loco. Petey and Emma are regulars at East Tennessee Weight Pull Club events and we love them both! Petey is working hard towards his first weight pull title.

Petey is a high energy, fun loving, goofball. He is eager to please and will try just about anything asked of him, but weight pull is definitely his favorite activity! He gets so excited when he sees his harness!

Everyone has to find what motivates them when faced with a challange. For Kisch, it is Ami Insley promising cheese!

Weight Pull is a sport based on a handler's relationship with their dog. As an handler, it is your job to motivate your dog to work. If your dog doesn't want to pull, you can't make them. Some of the strongest dogs won't pull an empty cart if they are not motivated properly.

Many dogs are easily motivated by food or toys, but in weight pull competitions you cannot lure them with these. Handlers can clap, whistle, yell (nicely! Not agressively/minicingly), talk in funny voices, lay on the ground, and even promise food/toys.
