I love sunsets. It’s another day, gone forever. What did you do with that day? Did you use it for good, or for selfish gain? Did you glorify the Lord, or work iniquity? Did you work through it humbly, or did you plow through it full of worldly pride? Did you show love, or spew hate? Did you thank Him for it, or not give Him a second thought? I have days when I see the sunset, and think about how I’ve wasted the day and didn’t do anything good with it, and feel remorse. There’s a day coming friends that the sun is going to set on our lives. In the twilight of your life, are you going to feel satisfied that you did your best? I saw this today and all this weighed on my heart, so I thought I’d share.

Merry Christmas y’all! Thank you to everyone for your support!

Everyone wants to live their dream. They put in hours of hard work and dedication to make it to the level of living their dreams. Many times, a dream is given up on because in our tunnel vision line of sight, we feel like we’re not even close. As long as I’ve fooled with horses, I always wanted to be a “ big time breeder”. I wanted people to want the horses I raise, and come from far and wide to get them. I wanted my name to be synonymous with some of the finest horses you could imagine. We raise some nice babies, and always seem to have a buyer show up to get them eventually. Although, my phone isn’t ringing off the hook, and there’s no line of trucks pulling horse trailers headed to our barn. Our expectations of how we had it all envisioned can kill a dream fast! Even if none of this is going on, my wife and I are still living our dream. We’re raising dang good babies! The work is the same, the horses are the same, and the love of what we do is the same. Sometimes you just have to take that picture of your dreams and reframe it. Thank you Lord for letting us live a life we love!

We had a great bunch of kids at the barn today! The Walker Co 4H horse club came to see us. These girls had all kinds of questions about breeding and did a bunch of loving on the babies. Hopefully they left with a little more understanding to what it takes to raise babies. As always, they thanked me before they left, but I’m the one that should be thanking them for brightening my day! Y’all come back anytime!

We always have people come to our barn to see the horses and the babies we raise. These people range in age from toddlers to grown adults who have lived their lives fully. It seems that all of them are full of joy and excitement, and feels the tranquility there at our barn, or standing under the poplar trees in the back pasture with the broodmares. This is our everyday life, day in and day out. Feeding, working with the horses, or just going there to get some peace and quiet to refocus on the days the world spins a little too fast for us. Sometimes we tend to take this life we live for granted. No matter what you do, how your daily life is spent, never take it for granted, no matter how small or insignificant you may think it is. Someone somewhere is dreaming of living the life you live.
