My husband, Aaron (everyone calls him Opie) and I (Carrie) live on a small farm just outside of Fessenden, ND, in Wells County. We have six children who range in age from 26 to 8, and have recently been blessed with a precious grandbaby. We raise purebred Miniature Dachshunds, with pups of varying colors. We can get dapples, piebalds, black/tan, or chocolate/tan. Our future lines may also give us

Creams, and possibly reds. We do have Isabella color in our bloodlines, but getting this color is rare for us. We have also had a few longhair pups. Our pups start at $1,200.00, and are higher for unique colors, patterns and coat. We require a $400.00 non-refundable deposit to reserve a pup, and the remainder is due in cash at the time of pickup, which occurs at our farm near Fessenden. Puppies will NOT be release earlier than 8 weeks old. Please plan accordingly. Puppies are vaccinated and dewormed, and have a veterinarian examination, health record and report card completed at 6 weeks old. A pedigree will be provided in each puppy's packet, along with some other goodies. All litters are registered APRI and some are dual registered APRI and AKC. Puppies are under a spay and neuter contract, please be advised, and are sold as PET ONLY. (A copy of our contract can be emailed or faxed, per request.) Thank you! My girls!! Penelope joins Ira and Daphne at the body shop this week, and most likely next week as well. She had hernia surgery and is recovering nicely. The crew at Sheridan Animal Hospital ND in Harvey take wonderful care of my babies. ❤️ Penelope is learning town rules, and though she loves being with me in town, her true desire is to run all over the farm.

We get asked often, "What do you feed your furbabies?"
The quick answer is: Life's Abundance All-Stage Kibble.

But, it can never really be a quick answer because there are so many reasons why we feed our dogs what we do.

Back history - When we started our breeding program back in 2013, we embarked on our adventure feeding what we thought sounded nutritious and healthy, but started to notice things like dull and flaky skin and coats, constantly in the food dish, and pooping like it's a competition! I expressed my concerns to my aunt, who is one of the State Epidemiologist of North Dakota for Animal Science, Dr. Misty Sabbe, DVM, what her recommendations were, as she is a vet and I trust her counsel. She suggested Life's Abundance.

At that time, she had been raising Ragdoll cats for years, and said about ten years prior to our conversation, she had switched to Life's Abundance based on her vet friend from Arizona's recommendation, who also raised Ragdoll cats. They were seeing more urinary infections, kidney stones, etc. in their cats, and determined their current kibble was the direct cause. Since they switched to Life's Abundance, they began to see big changes in the cats, fuller healthier coats, not as frequent bathroom trips, more energy, and my aunt hasn't had another urinary track issue in any of her cats since.

I was willing to try anything, and so I made the switch myself. I have been nothing but satisfied. In fact, some of the greatest changes we seen was how perky they became, and how quickly our momma's bounced back after having a litter. They weren't always searching for the food dish, and seemed to have lots of energy. And, they loved the food, so that right there was a big plus! Also, our babies were healthier and stronger, and gained weight more appropriately.

We free-feed our group, always have. We don't have weight issues, but we also keep our dogs pretty active. My aunt explained to me one time the reason why free-feeding is a good idea. She said that dogs, and cats, are hunters by nature. When they are hungry, their instincts tell them to hunt. So, when they 'hunt' out their food dish, and it's empty, their body goes into survival mode. The next time the food is offered, they tend to eat really fast, and will consume everything you will give them to the point of puking, because they know it won't be there later. But, if they know the food will be there every time they 'hunt' for it, then they will feel secure they can eat casually and stop when they are full. Also, providing a food that meets all their dietary needs will also curb overeating. That's why choosing a food, like Life's Abundance, is always a good plan.

What we like about this kibble is there are choices of food, from puppy to senior, but even their All-Stages kibble is satisfactory for maintaining optimal health. We feed the All-Stages. We have had patrons feed Life's Abundances puppy food and have been very happy with it, as the kibble is smaller and it is higher in key nutrients like fat and protein. It is highly recommended to switch to All-Stages kibble at or prior to a year of life, to avoid unwanted weight gain in your dog.

Life's Abundance also has treats. Though, I'm not a big treat fan, I have purchased these guilt-free, as they aren't full of fillers and the puppers love them. There are many to choose from. Our new puppy people will receive samples with their puppy-packs, as a gift to our baby's for their new journey.

Prices are comparable to other well-known brands like Science Diet. But, if you consider your pup won't be eating as much because it is adequately providing them what their body's need, even a small bag will last awhile.

Since we buy kibble in bulk, I have signed up as a representative. I will not pressure anyone in purchasing Life's Abundance products, but if you do decide to try it, please use my link as we do get a bit of a kick back that we can use towards our current feeding program.

That time of year again when the fair is in full effect, and with our family being heavily involved with 4-H and other fair activities, EMS, etc we haven't had much time for much else. All the puppies are doing good and they are looking forward to their new homes next weekend. We haven't forgotten about anybody but leading up to the fair and being in the fair has taken a lot of our time. Our apologies for not getting puppy pictures out to our people, and will do so at the end of the fair.

Big things are happening around here!! After we lost Sadie, my anxiety hit the roof. As much as I'd love for our sweet dachshunds to run our farm like free range chickens, it has proved to be way too risky for my babies to do that. So, in honor of Sadie and all our dachshunds, we are building a huge run area in our backyard where the doggies can run and play, without worry of tractors, cattle, Pyrenees, whatever may come a lurking. And, my nerves can be more at rest. 🙏♥️🙏

This girl is so amazing. She is my biggest helper, and she does it all so willingly. She loves the pups so much and gets right in there whenever there is something to be done with them. I am going to miss her this week, and Jasper and Westin, too, as they are all at 4-H camp with their calves/steer this week. ♥️ I know they are having so much fun! They will be surprised at how much the puppies will grow while they were gone.

One of three update videos on our wee little pups, and their two mommas. ❤️ Tragedy of losing our Sadie, leaving behind her six babies, left us devastated. Through the heartache, such an amazing story of hope, love and determination has blossomed, despite all odds, for these pups and their journey, thanks to two wonderful mommies who added to their own puppy loads, by accepting these little orphans. ❤️🌞 We are so incredibly moved and thankful.

Sterling chose to sing, "Keep You Eyes on the Prize." Jasper sang a German song, "O Laufet, Ihr Hirten," while his cousin Braxton accompanied him playing the piano. The kids had such a good time and did a wonderful job. ♥️🥰

After chores it's time to play. ♥️ Sterling is not only a puppy tamer, but also a calf tamer. It is now calving season and we have our first bottle calf. But, now it's puppy time!!

A pedigree will be provided in each puppy's packet, along with some other goodies. Puppies will be ready to go to their furever homes at 8 weeks of age.
