Just a reminder for those interested in adoptable adult Bulldogs...
When we have an adult Bulldog come available for adoption this is one of our retired show dogs - not a rescue from somewhere else, not a dog who has been mistreated/neglected/abused/ unwanted etc. This is a dog who has always had a home, has been well cared for, and will continue to have a home here with us and will be continued to be cared for. There is no rush or deadline for the dog to get a home. The dog will not just go to the first person who inquires, but the person/family who will be a good fit. The first step is to fill out the application on our website. If the application process should go well, and you adopt the dog, but then the dog does not fit into your family/home then you are to return her. There is a nonrefundable adoption fee.
Please note that we do not place adult Bulldogs into households with small children (households with older children may be considered). This is because we feel this is in the best interest of the dog and the child/children. Puppies fit much better into a home with small children, than an adult Bulldog does. Please note whether you are adding an adult dog or a puppy to your home/family that it is very important that your children understand what is and is not okay to do to/with the dog/puppy, how to and not to interact with the dog/puppy, etc.
Please also take note that we no longer place adult dogs into households with other dogs. This does not mean that our dogs are not social with other dogs its just what we feel is best due to a bad past experience in placing a dog into a household that already had a dog. While you may have a dog or dog(s) who might seem social with other dogs out in public whether to be a walk throughout the neighborhood, play time at the dog park or with friend/family member/ neighbor's dog - things can be much different when actually bringing another dog to live in your home and share with your dog(s). Adult dogs do not always accept other adult dogs into their home. A lot of times adult dogs do not want to share their bed, toys, bones, or owner's attention, etc with a new adult dog. We do feel puppies fit much better into a home that already has adult dog(s).
Not all dogs are fond of cats so we do not normally place dogs in homes that have cats.
Please also take note - if you have not already read through our information we are located in Fleetwood, PA. Bulldogs will not be shipped. Potential new owners must pick up here in Fleetwood, PA.
Please take the time to read through our website if you have not already.
For those seriously interested in adopting an adult Bulldog please read our website and fill out the application https://www.danddbulldogs.com/availableadultbulldogs.htm
While we understand many people have questions for us, and we are happy to anwser - please keep in mind we have questions for your as well. Our application is not long so it does not take long to fill out. It has general questions we would ask of any potential new owner. It is also quick way to help us determine whether or not the adoption process should move forward - similar to how your questions help determine whether or not you would like to move forward. If we have additional questions we will reach out with them, or if we think it will not be a good fit we will let you know.
As of now we do have one adult Bulldog available for adoption.
Violet has had a very successful show career completing her AKC Championship and then her Grand Championship. She is a beautiful fawn brindle and white five year old Bulldog. Through all that traveling and socializing she has traveled all over. She is used to being crated as she is crate trained home, traveled in the car in a crate, as well as was used to being crated at dog shows and hotels when not out with us at dog shows. She is a very nice dog. She is not good with cats so she will not be available for adoption to a household with cats.
Update : adoption pending
