This post is difficult to to write, but necessary to let all of you know, that the business has sold and will officially close on MAY 13, 2022.

We appreciate you entrusting your pets to our care over the years and apologize for the short notice. The sale has moved more quickly than we had imagined.

Fond du Lac Pet Grooming will be open starting Wednesday, April 29th with curbside service per Gov. Evers order #34. Thank you for your patience during these unprecedented times. We have already begun to schedule those pets that were on the schedule prior to the mandated closure. Please be patient as we answer calls and check messages to work everyone in to our schedule!

We have been contacted by a number of customers due to a post by another local groomer in regards to opening earlier than the current date of May 26th as stated in the governor's order. We have contacted local authorities and they have told us the following: "In reviewing the Governor’s Safer At Home Order #12 and his updated order which is to take effect on Friday, Pet Groomers are clearly considered non-essential businesses and should not be open for business. I have seen nothing in any of the orders that calls for a May 5th opening of Pet Grooming Businesses, with this being such a fluid situation those things are always subject to change with little notice. If ************************** (redacted) Pet Grooming opens in violation of the Governor’s Order they would be visited by Law Enforcement and we would issue a cease and desist letter from the Health Department. We have had to deliver a number of those to various businesses throughout this crisis. We know how tough it is for everyone, including the business community. Most have been very good and compliant with the Health Orders, with everyone’s help and a lot of prayers we will get through this soon."

It is our hope that everyone will contact their veterinarian if there pet is in need of medical attention and continue to comply with the current safer at home order, whether in agreement or not, to promote lawful compliance and unnecessary contact for our officials that are considered essential and carrying out their duties as required.

Although we all would like to see you and your pets, the current Safer at Home order has been extended until May 26th for non-essential businesses. The order specifically states: Pet Grooming (including in-home, mobile, and part of a larger store). We had hoped for a modification of some sort to serve you, but that was not meant to be and we find ourselves with another month off. Please be patient with us as we navigate these waters.

Due to the "Safer-At-Home" Order that Governor Evers has put in place, we will be closed until we are allowed to reopen, which will likely be the end of April or beginning of May for non-essential businesses. We ask for your patience during this unprecedented time.

Our owners at the Fond du Lac Veterinary Clinic remain open for essential appointments and emergencies as permitted, but have adapted protocols to follow during this time.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Dr. Charles A Mayer. Dr. Mayer passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at home. He was 85 years old.

Services for Dr. Mayer will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church from 10am-Noon with Mass to follow.

Please note that the clinic will only be open from 8am-11am on Saturday morning so staff can pay their respects. Grooming will be closed.

Charles A. Mayer, DVM, 85, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at his home. He was born on December 30, 1933 in Fairmont, Minnesota, the son of William Judson and Margaret Bernice nee Sorlie Mayer. Chuck operated the Eden and Fond du Lac Veterinary Clinics with John F. Zook,
