SMMC Where are they Meow? This is Omar he owns Lacreisha and Kevin. He is a super sweet big boy! He actually let's Lacreisha know when her husband Kevin is not feeling good. He will either sleep under the bed on his side or lay next to him or on him , just to stay near. This is how she know her husband is not feeling good.

**Over the next few weeks we are doing a series about "Grooming your Maine C**n"
- Why this is so important for your Maine C**n?

Let's start with "Understanding Your Maine C**n's Coat"
- Understanding your Maine C**n's coat is crucial for keeping them looking as fabulous as a cat on a magazine cover. With their majestic mane and fluffy tail, Maine C***s are basically the supermodels of the feline world. Just remember, even the most glamorous cats can have a "bad fur day" now and then, so keep those brushes handy and embrace the occasional cat hair accessory that comes with being a Maine C**n owner. After all, a little cat hair never hurt anyone—it just shows the world that you have a purr-fectly stylish companion by your side!

Essential Grooming Tools**
1. **Slicker Brush wire brush for removing loose undercoat fur and preventing mats
2. **Wide-Toothed Comb : for detangling and removing knots
3. **Undercoat Rake: remove loose fur from the undercoat, It's especially beneficial during shedding seasons.
4. **Grooming Gloves: to brush your Maine C**n while providing a gentle massage.
Establishing a Grooming Routine
- Introduce at a young age
- Find a quiet, comfortable area. Have treats handy to reward good behavior.
- Start with the Undercoat :Work in small sections, starting from the neck and moving towards the tail.
- Brush the Top Coat: Next, use a slicker brush to brush through the top coat, working in the direction of hair growth. Brush in small sections, focusing on one area at a time to ensure thorough grooming.
- Check for Mats and Tangles: Use your fingers or a mat splitter to gently work through knots, starting from the tips and working your way up to avoid causing discomfort.
- Pay Attention to Sensitive Areas : Be extra gentle when brushing sensitive areas such as the belly, armpits, and behind the ears. Take your time and use a softer touch in these areas to avoid causing any discomfort.
- Reward and Reassure: offer verbal praise and treats to reward your Maine C**n for good behavior.
- Finish with a Gentle Massage: finish with a gentle massage to help distribute natural oils and promote healthy skin and coat.
- Maintain a Regular Grooming Schedule: brush them at least a few times a week, or more frequently during shedding seasons.
