Our Story
Sud-Z-Pet Grooming opened its doors on March 12, 2012.
The owner, Mary Angeline Crofoot of Fowlerville, received her diploma from the Academy of Animal Arts in Dearborn Heights in the Art and Science of Professional Pet Grooming. She offers customers a variety of services. “I do custom pet and breed standard trims; luxurious bathing with the finest products; nail trimming, grinding and polishing, ear cleaning; teeth brushing; and salt soaks for pets with aching joints and sore muscles.” In addition, there is a 24-hour grooming service for customers with scheduling problems during business hours Mon-Sat. 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Before opening her business, Mary Ann worked at the local May & Scofield auto supply plant. Due to the economic downturn they closed their doors. This gave her an opportunity to train for a new occupation. “I was 62 years old and the State of Michigan asked what I wanted to do when I grew up,” she joked. “So, I decided to train as a groomer and attend the Academy of Animal Arts in Dearborn Heights.”
Mary Ann states that she likes the challenge of grooming long-haired animals and working with the “hyper” little ones like Bichon Frise, Poodles, Shih-Tzu’s as well as cats. “I used my three-year-old toy poodle, Lauraline Rose, as my learning dog.”
