Week 2 SplitRock is in the books! Carly Stelling had good rides on a spooky replacement horse, and Leslie Roe was super consistent on Cuando Mi Amor, earning the win in a Low Adult class and a 3rd out of 28 in the 2’6” Derby!

Congratulations ladies, it’s a pleasure horse showing with you!❤️

Congratulations to all of the kids who participated at Lakeside Arena this weekend!!!

There were some large classes and good ribbons won!! However I will say that the most impressive part of the weekend was getting to see how far the kids have developed with their horsemanship skills. They have learned the ins and outs of horse care all thanks to Ashley Layman!

KY spring Classic did not disappoint!
Carly Stelling and Leslie Roe had rode consistently great trips earning good ribbons in a competitive Low Adult Division.

Gina Sparacino schooled her new baby horse, Zinny, nicely each day and baby Ray Donovan stepped up to the 3’ earning 3 firsts over fences in the Young’s and good ribbons in a hard Green Divison!!

A great way to start the season!

This one is bittersweet. I picked him up 7 years ago on my birthday. We have had so many rides together that riding him is effortless; he has figured out my way of going and I, his.

It has been amazing to watch him put so many smiles on Ashley Layman’s face for the past two years during her lease.

We hope that he gives his new mom, Claire Hale, just as many special memories as he has given us. He will be sorely missed. 🧡

Thank you to Pegasus Productionsfor hosting a very fun show, with great prizes and a very nice courses!

We are still learning Cuando Mi Amor in the hunter ring after a long successful jumper career, but Leslie is always lovely to watch!

Donovan won both of his baby green trips, earning champion and Byron was a wonderful babysitter on the trailer!

The biggest of thank yous to Gina Sparacinofor being the horse holding soldier for hours upon hours in the cold!

And always thank you to Reagan for being there ready to help load and unload!!

All of the kids, Lilah, jasmine, Lacey, Brooklyn, and Sarah were great!

Leslie and Cuando had two lovely and accurate trips, and baby Ray had a baby moment but redeemed himself over the cross country jumps!

Such a great group to horse show with!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Halloween Horse Show!

A special thank you to Kelsey Buckberry and Kim Nichols for judging and announcing! Ashley Layman did a great job running the show and Gina Sparacino went above and beyond with the intricate scavenger hunt and scare crow decorating contest!

This past week Kelsey Jean competed her mare, Willow, at the 2023 TB Makeover. With a shorter than normal restart time, Kelsey was able to successfully pilot this young horse around both a .80m jumper course, AS WELL AS a 2’6” hunter division!

Willow improved each day and really I look forward to watching her progress this year! Sometimes it’s not about winning the blue, but winning the confidence and trust of the animal you partner with. Congrats to the pair!!

It was an amazing but busy week for Ivory Creek @ the Platinum Performance/USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Finals with Purely Grateful and Lakeside Arena with the kids and young horses!!

Purely Grateful received the award for the High Score Thoroughbred of 2023 Green 3’6”-3’9” Platinum Performance/USHJA Hunter Incentive Finals Along with Reserve Champion of the Take2 Thoroughbred Division.

The kids rode well with some very normal first horseshow bobbles, and the young horses debuted around their first courses at 2’!

Thank you to Frank Conway, Kelly Fleming-Bentz, Maria Kabel and Ashley Layman for everything that you do!!!! And a special thank you to CJ for entertaining the little one during the chaos!
