UPDATE: Poncho has finalized all of his vetting and is now ready for adoption. If you’re looking for a young unique guardian/farm dog he is the best. Everyone who has ever met this guy wants to take him home. He is a delightful, kind, calm animal that loves people, animals, and just being in general. Top shelf canine. Still has a lot of puppy in him so we believe he is approx. 14-16 months old. Breed undetermined but surrendered as a Tornjak, possibly Anatolian/PYR etc…. Bottom line he is certainly of guardian dna.

NEW CAMPER ALERT: Poncho is here and looks better in person than any picture can show. He has a stunning coat and personality. Very tall puppy estimated at 14-18 months of age. Still debating breed so a dna test is in order. Anatolian/PYR, Tornjak, Caucasian shepherd? Who knows but he is awesome, kind, great on leash, and confident around d other dogs male and female. Some guardian past but not verified how skilled or capable he is as a solo guardian.

Pictured below is Kavik an Anatolian/PYR available for adoption. He is special needs due to congenital dysplasia but he is not highly affected in his daily life. He is the best!!! Not a guardian just a best friend.

New Camper Alert: Violet
She is a wonderful young PYR! At approximately 2.5yrs Violet comes to us as a Livestock Guardian looking for a new home. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, very healthy and socialized. She was working in a pack and is reported to work with goats, pigs, and chickens and she is cat friendly as well. We cannot vouch for her guardian skills but her demeanor tells us she’s a winner! Violet weighs right at 95lbs. but could handle another 10 easily. Big wonderful dog. Guardian or home applications will be accepted.

Today we said goodbye to our beloved Lewis. He and his brother Clark were our first PYR family rescues. They were 100% feral. Finally trapped at about 18 months of age, the two brothers came to us in bad shape. Lewis was so frightened he sat against the barn wall for three days and never moved. It took three years for him to walk on a leash and four years before he would cross the threshold of a doorway. He was an amazing dog and taught us about his breed. It is hard to accept that he is no longer here. He went from feral to family and he changed our lives much more that we could have done for him. He was kind, stubborn, and very smart. I know for certain he was thankful for his rescue and to grow up trusting and loving his human friends and family. Godspeed Lewis, we will miss you always.

Freeloader available for adoption: Kavik. Before we start it should be know he is welcome to stay with us forever, he is one of our all time favorites.
Kavik has been in rescue for over a year, he has bad joints in his hind legs that puts him in the category of medical special needs. That being said, he gets around perfectly fine and takes supplements. At two years old he is a young dog and he is a pure joy. He is 1/2 Pyrenees and 1/2 Anatolian which explains his friendly, stubborn, and confident personality. He is for sure a freeloader. He loves treats, attention, and just lounging around. Kavik is an outdoor dog who enjoys coming inside for brief stents usually looking for a fridge based offering. He is simply the best dog to be around, friendly with anything and everything. Kavik needs a home where he can be outdoors in a fenced yard have shelter from the weather. He will steal your heart! Please share.

ASSISTANCE NEEDED: Our special girl LILO is a 16 month old Lab/Pyr mix. She has a few fixable issues related to her neglect and (at least verbal) abuse history. We spend at least 5 hours a day in direct contact with her and can attest she is a sweet devoted and loving dog. Her fear of strange men holds her back. We are desperately searching for a Lab owner looking for a fabulous dog who needs time to learn and experience ongoing kindness and socialization. She is not aggressive but protective and quickly warms up to all men who approach her the right way. I know from my own experience with her. Once she trusts she melts in your lap. Please share if you know a potential adopter or foster who has the gift of animal rehabilitation and patience.
