Finally got to groom my (Amanda's) own poodles for the first time since I got RSV in November and it almost took me out. Tristan (silver) and his daughter Sabrina (cream).

I had my teenage son take the pic of me and Sabrina and just gave up on him waiting for me to be looking up and at the camera at a reasonable angle. 😂 Sabrina looks great in that photo and I look... Like The Trunchbull. Tristan is in a 5th Avenue Dutch and Sabrina is in a puppy cut.

Howdy y'all! I (Amanda) am about to move into my brand new house! I only have wire crates for my dogs and I'm looking for a few like this. The yard doesn't have grass yet and even with straw, it's muddy, and this type will help me cut down on the mud my poodles/doodles track in. The dogs are 40-50 pounds. Message with price and pickup location or if you can drop them by the shop. Don't mind paying but I do need them to not be broken in any way. Thanks y'all!

Hey everyone!
We are open again, we have everything dried out enough to be back to work and the flooring is able to be worked on around our schedule! So we’re back in action 😊

We are also wrapping up scheduling! So expect to receive a text or email from us with your schedule within the week!

Also, just so you all can laugh with us at the absurdity that has been our last few weeks (because at this point that’s all we can do) here’s a photo from today. We enjoyed our first full day back after dealing with flooding by being half way through the work day and realizing this dog had somehow, somewhere, at some point encountered a nest of baby spiders and they decided to make their appearance as the dog was receiving pets 🤣
He PROMPTLY visited the bath tub and we do promise everyone went home spider-free. This was a first for us!

Beloved clients:

We have sent out very few schedules. I (Amanda) have been pretty sick since mid November. Over Christmas it got so much worse. I FINALLY got a diagnosis, and it's RSV with complications. We haven't forgotten anyone, but I've also been out of work almost all week and I'm just too sick to function. I have autoimmune issues from Lyme disease in 2016 and I always get sicker than a normal person would but this is next level. I appreciate everyone's understanding.

Just a reminder that if you would like to set your dog(s) up on a schedule for 2024 and haven’t done so already, please send us an email at [email protected] ! We will forward you our 2024 schedule request form as well as our year end newsletter, you will be able to fill it out and email it back to us easy peasy, no printing or docs or links involved!
We will be getting started on setting up our 2024 schedule book over our Thanksgiving break, which we will be on from tomorrow until Tuesday the 28th!

Good morning!
We will be in the salon today & tomorrow and then Tuesday - Saturday of next week from 9am until about 4pm. If you haven’t had a chance yet to stop by and fill out your 2024 schedule form, we encourage you to do so as we will be setting 2024 schedules over our Thanksgiving break!
If you are unable to stop by in person to fill out your form, please send an email to [email protected] requesting one! You will be able to fill it out and email it back to us.

As we head into fall, it's time to start getting the schedule ready for next year! We are open Tuesday through Friday one week and Wednesday through Saturday the next. Try to get by sometime this month and pick up a schedule request form, or make sure you get one at your dog's next appointment.

We are now booked through the end of the year but we do have a cancellation list. Please let us know ASAP if you either need an appointment, or have an appointment you can't make it to.

We are going to start the scheduling for next year over Thanksgiving holiday. Friendly reminder that we are closed the week of Thanksgiving and the week of Christmas.

Howdy y'all! We are taking on some limited new clients under 50 pounds. For best results, text 828-371-9082. Second best results, message on Facebook. Due to call volume and the loud environment of a groom shop, we are behind on phone calls.

We have had a few people no call/no show for their first appointment. When this happens we do not reschedule those clients. We do try to be understanding and even letting us know the night before will allow us to fill your slot most of the time.

To help determine if we will be a good fit for you and your dog, some information about us:

-we do require that all dogs are currently on rabies, DHLPP, and strongly recommend canine cough vaccines. Proof is required.
-we are looking for clients who want to maintain a regular schedule, ideally every 4 weeks, no longer than every 8 weeks.
-we are not able to take dogs that are aggressive for grooming, dogs over 8 months who have never been groomed before, or dogs that struggle enough to hurt themselves or us for grooming.
-we refer dogs whose age or health puts them in a high risk category to a groomer who is in the same building as a veterinarian. We do not generally take new client dogs over the age of 10 for this reason.

I feel like the no shows were related to out of date vaccines. Please just communicate. Today we had $240 worth of no shows. We could have filled those appointments with adequate notice.

If you are an existing client and have not been able to get in recently, drop us a line and we will prioritize getting you back on the schedule.

We are pretty far behind on answering phone calls, texts, and FB messages and I feel terrible. I love having a thriving business and being in demand, but this area has lost a lot of groomers since we opened and we can't handle the overflow and don't have anywhere to send most of them.

New clients are on a wait list. Existing clients, I promise we are trying keep up.

This year Ive had a 6 week fight with pneumonia, two surgeries, and a severe dog bite. Im struggling with a repetitive stress injury in my elbow. While my bather and receptionist can do some things without me, I'm the only groomer we have.

I have had to step back from training for now.

I wish it was as simple as just hiring more help, but that isn't practical. I don't have time to train a new groomer, and hiring people to work with animals is dicey. Hiring anyone that isn't a trained finish groomer would lose money. I am comfortable with the team I have now and don't want to change anything.

I love the people and animals in this community and I am trying to keep up. Thank you all for making us a success. Bear with us as I try to catch up.

Cesar Milan has been personally responsible for the dangerous idea that all any dog needs is structure and exercise for it to be safe to live with. This isn't true. Aggression in dogs is mostly genetic, whether fear based aggression or forward aggression.

There are dogs that are safe for anyone to own, dogs that are safe for competent people with good knowledge and management to own, and dogs that aren't safe for anyone to own. Most of what determines that is in the DNA.

For further reading, I highly recommend The Hammer by Bryan Bailey and Dogs: A Startling New Look at Canine Origin, Behavior, and Evolution by Raymond and Lorna Coppinger, PhDs.

Spring cleaning time! Friday, March 31, I (Amanda/groomer) will be out for surgery but Kevin and Haley will be here for bath dogs. We have several openings for bath dogs under 40 pounds that are existing clients. Call or text 828-371-9082 or shoot us a message on FB to book a bath for you dog!

Your dog will get a good bath, a nail trim, ear cleaning, a blow dry, deshedding, and a good brush out. No clipping or trimming of fur.

Hello everybody! Amanda here.

Anyone who knows me knows I don't miss work lightly. I take my schedule very seriously. I have been out a couple days in the last two weeks due to serious health issues and I will be out next week. After that, I should be ok for the foreseeable future.

Haley and Kevin will be in next week and can do baths, blow dry, nail trims, basically everything that doesn't involve cutting hair, which is what they generally do anyway. We will be in touch with everyone individually to see if you'd like to come in and get your dog's bath and blow dry and all that, or if you'd like to wait for their next scheduled appointment. If you have a dog you like to keep more on the fluffy side, having them come for their bath and blow dry with nail trim and all that is highly recommended.

Because I know we will have some cancellations, we will also have some availability for dogs who just need baths next week.

We will not be starting any new training classes for the foreseeable future. I will complete training classes for existing training clients when I'm cleared to return to work.
