Update on the Hip Dysplasia Project (by International of Canine Biology) traction mats: they are finally making noticeable difference in these girls.
It has been slow to begin, but since Friday, they’ve really taken off by walking (albeit like drunken sailors) and sitting upright some. They’re getting their feet under them while nursing instead of just sprawling legs all over like before.
Before I started the project, I had high expectations in thinking all the normal mobility challenges with Frenchie would magically go away on day 1, which was far from the case. I’ve had to really work to let the process happen and be patient. There have been a couple workable curve balls but I see it being worthwhile in the end.
Watching these girls mature has been delightful!
