COME MEET THIS HANDSOME FELLA AT THE PETCO-WILCREST ADOPTION CENTER!

GREETINGS FROM THE LONE STAR STATE, TEXAS! THE NAME'S PETER, AND I HAVE A SOFT SPOT FOR ALL THINGS, ESPECIALLY TREATS. I'M A HEFTY GUY ON THE LOOKOUT FOR A HUMAN COMPANION TO CALL MY OWN. I ENDED UP AT DUDE'S ANIMAL RANCH AFTER BEING DISCOVERED WANDERING THE STREETS OF RICHMOND. THE KIND SOUL WHO TOOK ME IN REACHED OUT TO THE WONDERFUL FOLKS AT THE RANCH TO SECURE ME A SPOT, HOPING TO FIND ME A FOREVER HOME.



WHEN I WAS DISCOVERED, I WAS ALREADY MICROCHIPPED. HOWEVER, WHEN THE RANCH REACHED OUT TO MY FORMER OWNER, THEY MENTIONED THEY COULD NO LONGER ACCOMMODATE ME AND DECIDED TO TRANSFER MY CUSTODY TO DARS-TX.

I'M APPROXIMATELY 4 YRS OLD.

RAINIER WAS ADOPTED THIS AFTERNOON AND GOT HER VERY OWN FUREVER HOOMAN! RAINIER CAME TO US WITH HER MOM SMOKEY AND 2 BROTHERS (ROCKY AND AUGUSTINE) AND HER SISTER HELEN WHEN THEY WERE JUST DAYS OLD.

MAMA SMOKEY AND SISTER HELEN GOT ADOPTED EARLIER THIS MONTH AND ARE THRILLED FOR THIS STUNNING BLUE STRIPED TABBY TO HAVE A HOOMAN TO CALL HER OWN!

SWEET MILO GOT ADOPTED TONIGHT TO A GREAT YOUNG COUPLE WHO WAS LOOKING TO ADD ANOTHER KITTY TO THEIR COLLECTION. MILO WILL BE JOINING HIS KITTY BROTHER AND SISTER, ONE IS 8 YEARS OLD AND THE OTHER IS JUST 3. MILO WILL BE THE BABY BROTHER AT JUST 2.

SWEET JACOB IS A 5 YR OLD DMH WHO CAME TO US FROM BARC'S DEATH ROW AS 4 CATS THAT WERE PART OF A POLICE CONFISCATE...

WE TOOK ALL 4 BOYS INTO OUR CARE AND GOT THEM THE CARE THE DESPERATELY NEEDED. JACOB ALONG WITH ONE OF HIS HOUSEMATES NEED EYE REMOVAL SURGERY DUE TO UNDERLYING CONDITIONS PRIOR TO THEM COMING TO US. WE GOT BOTH BOYS IN FOR THE SURGERY A WEEK APART FROM ONE ANOTHER.

JACOB IS THE LAST OF THE 4 BOYS TO BE ADOPTED! WE ARE EXCITED FOR HIS NEW CHAPTER WITH 2 OTHER RESCUE KITTIES WITHIN HIS NEW HOME.

*** JACOB ONLY WILL ALLOW YOU TO HOLD HIM ON HIS OWN TERMS AND A LOUD STORE ISN'T A ENVIRONMENT HE LIKES... SO WE JUST GOT A QUICK PHOTO BEFORE WE TRANSFERRED HIM INTO HIS NEW CARRIER.

WTH IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!

THESE 2 BABIES WERE DUMPED AT THE BRAZOS TOWN CENTER PETCO IN ROSENBERG THIS MORNING BEFORE THE STORE OPENED IN A CRATE IN AT LEAST 80° HEAT WITH NO WATER... YOU TOOK THE TIME TO WRITE A NOTE ON BRIGHT FLORESCENT ORANGE TAPE AND BLACK OUT YOUR CONTACT INFO ON THE CRATE BUT COULDN'T WAIT A FEW MORE HOURS UNTIL THE STORE OPENED TO AT LEAST TRY TO BE A DECENT HUMAN!

I HOPE YOU HAVE THE DAY YOU DESERVE!

Hey All-

Anyone have contacts at HPD, I need to file an animal abandonment report that I witnessed while at the Wilcrest Petco... I've been trying to call HPD's non emergency line but can't get ahold of an officer.

I have a license plate... any help is appreciated. I will explain more once I can word it nicely.

The 3 kittens are safe and I'm the one who confronted this horrible human 😢

UPDATE: WE HAVE A GENERATOR ON PROPERTY THANKS TO ONE OF THE PETCO STORE MANAGERS.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A GENERATOR WE CAN USE FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS?

WE HAVE FOSTER AND SANCTUARY ANIMALS, OUR FANS ARE DYING FASTER THAN WE CAN GET A FULL CHARGE VIA OUR CARS.

WE WERE ABLE TO GET SOME ICE FROM OUR WONDERFUL NEIGHBORS TO KEEP THE KITTY INSULIN CHILLED FOR NOW... ALL OUR ICE FROM MONDAY HAS MELTED.

ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED SO WE CAN KEEP THESE BABIES COMFORTABLE.

WE LOST POWER AT 545 AM MONDAY AND HAVE YET TO GET IT BACK.

SANCTUARY UPDATE:

We have been without power since 5:45 AM on Monday... all of the animals are fine we have Ryobi battery operated fans going so everyone stays cool...

A huge thank you to Petco saff for checking on our cats within our 3 stores yesterday. Brendon is out and going into our 3 stores checking today. 2 of 3 stores have power but most likely won't be open today due to how hot it is in the stores as the power just came back on.

SMOKEY FOUND HER FUREVER HOOMAN TODAY.

Smokey came to us with her 4 two day old kittens from Jen's Neonatal Kitten Nursery. We have gotten 1 of the 4 kittens into their furever homes and today Smokey found hers.

Smokey is a shy but very sweet girl. We are so excited for this beautiful mama!

We just came across the wonderful non-profit organization Project K-9 Hero that helps retired military and police dogs. Please give them a follow on Facebook for us. Our military service members, first responders and their families are something near and dear to us here at Dude's Animal Ranch & Sanctuary as our Board Members fall into these categories.

Did you know most departments don't cover the cost of our K-9 counterparts in retirement or should they become unable to work due to a injury or medical reason... costs are only covered by the departments when they are active.

Project K-9 Hero is a non-profit that helps these precious animals into retirement who have given so much to our country and community!

We are so grateful for the service of our nation’s retired Police K-9 and Military Working Dog Heroes that we want to honor them in retirement, and ensure the best quality of life for them, by providing assistance with medical costs, food and end of duty services.

🍭 SWEET SENIOR 🍭

Roxxie was saved from BARC DEATH ROW and was adopted at the end of February... unfortunately her adoptive family have fallen on hard times and contacted us last night informing us of their situation.

It is a requirement and written in to our adoption contract that should you need to rehome a previous animal of our they must be returned to us so we can ensure it is done safely and new adoptive hooman's are fully vetted... in return we never ask questions or make anyone feel bad on an already difficult situation.

Roxxie is a sweet 13 year old who is a lover who loves to cuddle. She will be spending some time with us back at the Sanctuary and then when the time is right she will be available for adoption.

Please remember to be kind in your comments our hearts go out to her previous adoptive family.

Sweet Bella came to us from BARC DEATH ROW. Bella is a very affectionate 💋 healthy and laid back sweetheart 💕

Bella found her furever hooman in one of the Petco groomers that has seen her everyday since we got her to the Brazos Town Center location.

It was really loud at closing time so we didn't get a post adoption picture with Bella's new mommy, but have attached Bella's DARS-TX biography photo.

PSA:

One thing we pride ourselves on at Dude's Animal Ranch & Sanctuary is extreme transparency. You share the good, the bad, and the ugly in all aspects of our mission to save these precious babies.

Recently we have lost a few of our rescues despite our unwavering commitment and dedication. One thing that sets us apart is we share these losses with our followers as part of our commitment to be transparent.

We also are a very small rescue with 3 board members and 3 volunteers... when donations are tight or unavailable the money that it takes to get these babies care they need comes out of Brendon and Brian's personal pocket without a second thought.

We will not tolerate anyone being unkind or abusive in person or via social media to our volunteers or board members. We have had to remove comments and block a few individuals recently who chose violence in their words.

Anyone who is in the trenches of rescue day in and day out would never act this way towards another rescue who gives their all and does it out of the kindness of their heart ❤️

Good Morning Friends-

We wanted to first and foremost thank everyone who was praying for Moo and made donations to help with the costs of his emergency veterinary care.

Unfortunately Moo's blood sugar dropped again this morning despite being on fluid and dextrose. Moo's condition was declining rapidly and the signs of an underlying neurological abnormalities was very apparent due to his intermittent paralyzed state and his organs were starting to fail him.

At 2AM this morning Moo passed peacefully in the palm of my hand after we made the decision to humanly euthanize him as his quality of life would never be the same and interventions on our end and the vet's end weren't helping.

We don't know exactly what went wrong but it was the vet's opinion he was born this way and although initially he was showing signs of a growing kitten the neurological abnormalities started to make themselves known and there wasn't anything anyone could do to save this precious boy and would never have the quality of life he so deserved ❤️

GO REST HIGH ON THAT MOUNTAIN MY SWEET MOO COW
