This is Michele, Rusty’s wife. I know by now many of you have likely heard of the passing of Rusty. Many have reached out and for that we are forever thankful. I speak for the entire Dare family when I say thank you to all who have sent their condolences or stopped by to check in. We are all devastated by the enormity of this loss and it is going to take some time to figure everything out. When we have details on services we will share them.
Trevor & Laura made it here to be with him before he was taken to the funeral home. I’m so thankful they were able too. I would not get thru this without them. Kiley Dare Lewin I cannot tell you how sorry I am that you were unable to see him as planned later this month.
I’m a bit of a mess right now and not wanting company beyond immediate family. Just need a day or two to digest this. I will write more later but at the moment I can’t think clearly and want to make sure everything written pays the appropriate tribute to Rusty. He was one in a million.
I think Rusty would be shocked at the outpouring, he was always so humble.
I thank God that this morning I was able to watch him ride Lucy before going in to work. I will forever cherish that memory as well as all the others we created over the years.
He was on his second or third horse of the day when he sufferered a heart related incident. Thankfully he did not suffer. RIP my handsome man. My best friend. We all love you so much. You will be greatly missed by so many. I know you are riding high in the Heavens. 💔 🙏
