For me….Between personal and natural disasters this year is obviously meant to get my attention and refocus on what matters in life.
I am trying to unravel and understand what “ my” lessons are.
I am incredibly grateful and thankful for all of the people all over who have send positive vibes,prayers and funds( both for myself and my Island).
The kindness from so many people is overwhelming.
I love you all and can not wait to get back to caring for pups and cats.
Mostly I can wait till I find, see or am told the “why’s “.

The following is the latest update from CenterPoint Energy:

West End (west of 61st)

-Assessments by CNP showed the west end of the Island sustained the bulk of damage
-Crews have tomorrow’s assignments and will be out between 8:00 – 830 AM
-120 crews assigned to work on the west end
-Submerged Transmission Cable restored today
-Estimated restorations to all structures that can take power on the west end 3-4 days

East End (east of 61st)

-15 crews assigned and working in the residential areas
-8 crews assigned and working the Port Area
-12 additional crews arrived this afternoon and will be assigned to other areas including Harborside and PI area. They are receiving their work tomorrow

CenterPoint Energy outages in Galveston County is currently at 40,000 meters
Today’s restoration was 6,000 meters

With the full force of both the 155 Mutual Assistance Crews on the Island and the MA crews on the Mainland , tomorrow’s restoration efforts should bring a larger number of restored meters

The City of Galveston has opened a cooling center at the McGuire Dent Recreation Center, and it will be open today from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The recreation center is located at 28th and Seawall, 2222 28th Street, and residents or visitors will be able to come in and escape the heat.
