We expose them to gunfire young around here 🤠
This wasn't the first time, but it was the first time while they were separated in their pens being fed. You can see there was a reaction with shot 1, then not much for shot 2. I think they'll make fine all around horses when they grow up.
Sarge is 6 months old and closest to me
Meeko is a long yearling in the far pen.
Both are registered Rocky Mountin Horses and are available to the right home.
We have been unseasonably warm so far in October. That all changed today with a huge temp drop and chance for sleet/snow the next 2 days. So I brought weanling Sarge ( dark one) and yearling Meeko ( lighter) over to the big barn so they can stay nice and dry and warm. What good boys walking over🥰 Both are available. PM for info

Mister's gait coming together. Soon I'll start addressing bringing his head down. Took him down the road for the first time today as well. No spooking, just looks extra hard at stuff sometimes. He likes to go up and check things out too.
He's going to be really nice and is at the perfect point for sometime to take over if they are experienced with green gaited horses. Scoop him up now before his price goes up in the spring with extra riding!

I've finally been able to get 2 good weeks of consistent riding on Mister. He's really coming together gait wise, handle wise, and confidence wise.
We have this man made pond area on our property that is generally bone dry, so it makes the PERFECT training area to teach body control and foot awareness. You've gotta have both to safely ride out here! This was his first day down in here and he did really well, there was also a neighbor sighting in a hunting rifle and he did well with that also.
He's going to make someone a fun little ride. He has a nice forward walk and I think will really cover some ground. He is also learning about pivoting on forehand and hind end, leg yields, and opening and closing gates. Looking for a new 🏡
Sweet Jack is such a lovey, regardless of the species 🥰
** Sarge is available. PM.
Sarge was introduced to his gelding manny who will be his protector and teacher as he is initiated into the bachelor herd. I wonder how long it will take him to figure out he's barking up the wrong tree🤣
Weaning day! Sarge is available. PM.
I've been upping separation time for a couple weeks and finally cut the cord today. He gets to hang out with his half sister. I love how their dam stamps her babies with effortless elegance and athleticism.
Didn't take too long for him to settle down and graze!
Had a spectacular family ride this weekend. What makes it really special is my daughter being able to ride the black mare, Lacey. This was their first trail ride and it was a fairly technical one with more difficult water crossings. I am so proud of how far 5 year old Lacey has come since this spring. 4 months ago I never would have guessed I would be trusting her enough to put my kid on her. To me, this really highlights the importance of body work for your horses- massage, chiropractic, etc. There's no way she would have come so far so quickly without finding and resolving her pinched nerve. She was always wonderfully smooth, would go through anything, awesome handle on her- but she was always just a little unpredictably reactive sometimes. It all makes sense looking back. So thankful we stuck it out and persevered knowing the behavior wasn't making sense. We've got a hell of a horse on our hands!
Took Missy out for the first time since getting her home from Kentucky. I've been giving her time to rest and recuperate from her summer and the long trip. We're still getting a feel for eachother again but I had a freaking blast on her!
Lacey is back to work after finding the pinched nerve this spring and giving her the summer to recuperate from the resulting issues, ie ulcers and expectation of pain. She is looking FABULOUS and is RELAXED!! I've got big plans for her!!
Missy is such an elegant girl, and she's only going to keep getting better!
She's the big champagne horse😉
