Pretty sure I got the genders figured out on Peaches' kits with the exception of one which I will recheck in a few days. Red dots are girls and blue dots are boys. The green question mark is the one who I am still questioning gender on. Their eyes have just started opening and as far as I can tell, they all have pretty blue eyes like mom and dad.

In correlation with Lake Superior Lops, I too am raising the rehoming fees of my baby bunnies. We work within each other's policies and have always agreed to keep our fees the same as to not underbid the other. Lake Superior Lops gave me my start when I decided to breed Holland Lops with the purchase of 2 does from her. She helped me get started and even let me use her bucks for my first breeding until I could buy a buck of my own. We have been close friends ever since, have bought from each other and shared our bucks. Lawaine has been a true friend and mentor to me and I am choosing to stay on the same fee scale as her. My Holland Lop bunnies will priced at the same fee she is setting which is $100 per bunny. I know that may sound expensive to some, but the cost of feed, hay and our time spent caring and cleaning for all of these bunnies and their parents only breaks even with what we earn off of them. A bunny is not a cheap, disposable pet. Owning a bunny is comparable to owning a dog. It's a commitment and nobody scoffs at paying $300-2500 for a dog. So as of July 1st, all bunnies will be $100 with exception for my harlequin colored bunnies. They will be $125-150 depending on markings and coloring.

So sad...this kit is my favorite out of Peaches' litter and was planning on keeping it if it was a doe, but no. As history presents itself to me, every time I fall in love with a kit, it ends up being a buck. Only 10 days old but definitely a buck....ugghhhh.....

Well, this little stinker from Sweetie's litter surprised me tonight. It is not a BEW after all! The little kit has been hiding its hind end in the nestbox hay. It has the cutest little gray butt. I believe it is considered a heavy vm blue magpie? Can any of my rabbitry business friends confirm this for me?

Sweetie's litter is now 9 days old. I lost 1 BEW. Sweetie is tiny so losing one was a blessing. These little kits are fattening up quickly now. They will be gendered and posted available on July 2 and ready to go to new homes on July 30. The vm black silver marten kit isn't named yet. I am waiting to learn its gender first. The other 4 blue-eyed whites have been named Marshmallow, Dumpling, Snowball and Ping Pong.

Ruby Road Rabbitry is currently going through a transition period with our breeding program. I will be focusing more on producing top quality harlequin and tri-colored Holland Lops. Sweetie and Peaches' kits will be the only kits available this summer. I have added 3 new does and 2 new bucks, who are currently too young to breed and since I don't breed during the winter months, will have to wait until spring before I will breed them. I am also going to be rewriting my purchasing policy. Rehoming fees for the harlequin HLs will be raised and set accordingly to their patterns and markings (btwn $100-150). All other colors rehoming fees will also be raised (btwn $80-100). Deposits to reserve a bunny after the gender reveal will be set at 25% of its rehoming fee. This fee change will be effective July 1, 2024. I have an over abundance of blue-eyed whites born this summer (5 to be exact) and will be pricing them at a much lower fee. Below are pictures of my new additions that I will be using in my breeding program next spring.

Peaches and Spencer had 7 babies last night after the big storm. Looks like 3 vm harlequins, 3 vm otters (?) and 1 BEW. Beautiful litter! These babies will be 👀 for new 🏡 on August 8.

Sweetie welcomed 6 healthy Holland Lop kits around 8 pm last night. Looks to be one vm black and 5 possible BEWs (blue-eyed whites). Not happy about the possible BEWs because they can be hard to rehome. I don't mind getting 1 or 2, but 5? Uffda....Hoping that some start showing some other color markings in the next few days when their fur starts growing out. I won't be doing this pairing again. You never know tho unless you try it first. You always take the chance of getting BEWs when u pair 2 blue-eyed bunnies together. Praying for some hidden colors to start popping out.

Game changer here trimming goats on a milking stanchion. Stephanie Hill and I trimmed hooves twice as fast as it used to take laying the goats down on their sides. A big THANK YOU to Sara Merrier 's daughter, Bella, for custom building this beautiful stanchion for me and my Fainter goats!

Tomorrow, my friend Julie and I are heading to Ada to pick up a companion doeling for her goat, Cupcake, and my future stud buck for my little herd of Fainters does. I am so excited to meet my new buckling! He is black with some white by his eyes and on his belly and gorgeous chocolate moon spots all over his body. He is going to make me some beautiful babies!

Peaches and Murphy have the prettiest litter I think I have ever had at Ruby Road Rabbitry! 3 vm harlequins, a broken black, a broken lilac, a broken chocolate and 1 solid brownish kit that I am going to have to watch to see what color it becomes. Almost looks like a darker fox color but also looks like a very light chocolate. Time will tell! Hoppy Easter everyone!

I will post the gender reveal and pics of the 4 week old kits from Sweetie and Leila's litters tomorrow. I have a wait list that needs to pick first from the litters first in order from when they asked to be put on the list. Let me tell ya tho, these 10 kits are all so friendly and sweet! I just love them all so much!
