Last month, all of my current waggers received a very important notice that was exciting, sad, and great all at the same time.

My last day working in Greensboro will be Saturday, September 21, as I get ready to move cross country with my fiancé. Greensboro, you have built my business. Trail Waggers started in Greensboro, NC and I could only hope a piece of Trail Waggers remains in your pets and in you all! I thank each and every one of you for trusting me to care for your pets and make Trail Waggers what it is today, a year later.

I will be moving to Port Orchard, Washington and Trail Waggers, of course, is coming with 🐶 Stick around for more details to come for virtual meet and greets and booking details (I have big plans in store!)

In the meantime, business will be running as usual in NC until 9/21 so do not hesitate to book your pets before then!

What safety precautions does Trail Waggers take while spending time with your pets?

🐾 All dogs are double leashed on walks to ensure any escape artists are secure and can’t slip out of their collar/harness

🐾 All cats and small critters are kept indoors, safe from hawks, cars, and strangers

🐾 Multi-pet play is always watched closely and carefully. No animals are outside unsupervised

🐾 If your pet gets crated while home alone, all collars and chew toys are removed to prevent choking hazards

🗣️ Let’s talk about your dog’s meals and how you can make it even better!
Let’s start with a disclaimer: there is NOTHING wrong with feeding your dog kibble as long as you’re making sure all the ingredients are safe, and your dog doesn’t have allergies to them! Make sure your pet food brand has a licensed nutritionist on staff (not all do). FED IS BEST.
What can we add to make their kibble even better for them?

🐶 Pumpkin is an amazing additive to your dog’s food for digestive health. It is one of the most affordable, and healthiest things you can add to their food! Make sure it is 100% pure pumpkin. Pumpkin contains lots of fiber, is low in fat content, and contains vitamin A, C, and E. Whether your pup has diarrhea, constipation, or even healthy poops that you want to keep regular, pumpkin is a great option!
🐶 Salmon, herring, and flounder are just a few types of fish that make a great addition to your dog’s food! Fish is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, and it’s an amazing protein source for dogs with allergies, such as chicken. Many pet food brands sell dried fish, or you can cook at home without oils and seasonings
🐶 Freeze dried food toppers contain lots of nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and enzymes due to the flash freezing process! Freeze dried foods also tend to be easier to digest for dogs!
🐶 Blueberries are a superfood with lots of benefits for both dogs and people! They contain lots of antioxidants that can help prevent cell damage and cancer. In my experience, dogs tend to prefer frozen wild blueberries for their small size, and crunch. There are also freeze dried options and plenty of yummy treats containing blueberries as well!

For the past 6 years, owning my own pet care company has been a dream of mine. I always thought I would own a doggy daycare, but I’ve found something so special in working with dogs one on one and being able to take on “project” dogs, reactive dogs, old dogs, puppies, cats, and just in general some pets that daycares and other pet sitters may say “no” for their own reasons (and that’s okay!). I’m coming up to my first year anniversary of starting Trail Waggers and I couldn’t thank you all enough for trusting your pets in my care and helping build my business!
