Playgroup Fridays! featuring Lady Rover and Daphne.
Come and meet these two affectionate and playful dogs this weekend!
One of our Animal Care Techs & Veternarian Techs took long-timer, Barbie out on a nice Dog's Day Out and this is what they had to say about her!
We took Barbie downtown on our Dog's Day Out. We passed by all the stores, cafes, and breweries. There were lots of people, and they all loved her. She was very social and enjoyed receiving pets. Two children even got to give her some pets and called her a good girl! She was interested in meeting some dogs from a distance, never barking or grolwing though. She sat for treats and toys. On a leash, she doesn't pull heavily but she is still an energetic girl that needs some time to let out some energy before being better on the leash. In the car, she was very good and was mostly interested in looking out the window but sat close to me in the back!
If you're interested in adopting Barbie, please come visit her during our adoption hours, 12 pm - 4pm every day but Tuesday at the Guilford County Animal Shelter.
If you're interested in fostering Barbie, please reach out to our foster coordinator, Kendelle Federico at [email protected] for more information !

Links
Meet Links!
Links arrived at the Guilford County Animal Shelter on February 23rd as a stray and has since been looking for his new home. He is 62 lbs, heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines! Currently in foster care, his foster parent has said that he is a cuddle bug and enjoys playing ball. This goofy boy also sleeps in the most weird ways! Links has shown that he has some resource guarding with toys and food but only towards other pets! So he will need to be in a home without other animals.
If you are interested in Links, please reach out to our foster coordinator, Kendelle Federico, at [email protected] to set up a time for you to meet this goofy boy!
Meet Sunshine
Meet Sunshine!
Sunshine is a 4-year-old female pitbull who will brighten all of your days! She is 40 lbs, spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines! This sweet girl came into the shelter as a stray in early February and has been looking for her new home ever since. She is currently in foster and has done amazing. She loves to go on adventures with her foster parent and gets so excited to meet other people (and dogs!). Sunshine has done well being crated and has not had any accidents in the fosters home!
If you are interested this warm ray of Sunshine, please contact our foster coordinator, Kendelle Federico, at [email protected] for more information!

Hey there Delilah!
This 4-month old cutie is available for adoption and is ready to go home today! Unfortunately she just came down with a cold and is being treated at this time, so she is not on the adoption floor. She would love to recover in a home of her own, rather than the shelter.
If you are interested in Delilah, please contact us through our shelter contact form: https://www.guilfordcountync.gov/our-county/animal-services/animal-shelter/contact-us and we will schedule a time for you to meet, or call Customer Service at 336-641-3401.

Merry Christmas from Animal Services!
We hope everyone is staying safe and warm this holiday weekend. Please remember to keep your pets inside during this frigid weather.
Happy Happy Holidays!
Hi everyone! It's Porky with a holiday wish for Adoption.
You see, I wandered away from home and got lost. This nice man in a uniform and a trailer found me and took me to the Guilford County Animal Shelter. They have given me a nice place to stay with lots of straw and food, but it's just not home. Although my name is Porky, I'm not that big of guy so I should fit right into a new place with no problem.
There's only 11 days left until Christmas. Won't someone please find me a home? Check out my profile picture in the comments below and come meet me, or reach out to my good friend Jennifer at [email protected] if you are a rescue.
Thank you! 🐷🐷🐷

Long-timer Tiny had a blast choosing his favorite holiday toy generously donated by Jonas and Leslie S. Terrones, who donated a ton of new toys for our shelter pups to play with.
Can you tell that Tiny had a blast playing with them? Check out Creamsicle in the comments below.
Play group Fridays!!
Today's bunch included our dogs, Meme, Gear, Astro, and Bumble.
These dogs had a blast roaming freely in our biggest play yard. Play groups provide much needed enrichment and socializing for dogs and can improve their potential for adoptions. It also answers the question "Is the dog I am adopting friendly towards other dogs?"
We love our play groups and will continue to spotlight our wonderful furry residents!
Ask us next time you stop by and witness a Play group for yourself!
Do you remember Storm? She and her sister were found in a taped up box when Hurricane Ian's remnants passed through here. Well, she is now Cadet Storm and about to start her training with Guilford County Sheriff's Office K9 team. First up is obedience training, according to Sergeant Mark Osborne. We expect her to fly through that training. She's a great, sweet girl who wants to please. Then comes training to detect drugs. After that, she becomes a member of their K9 team. We will keep you updated on her progress. Keep up the good work, Storm!
Micro the Dancer
Looking for a dancing partner? Micro is for you!
This timid little guy turns into a tiny dancer with the right treats. At first he sits nicely on your lap cuddling once he know you, then when the treats come out so does his personality! Micro is 3 years old and heartworm negative. He will be available for adoption starting tomorrow!
