It’s important to say at the beginning that Rose crossed the rainbow bridge during this journey, but that’s not how her story ends. Our neighbors, Sarah and Sam, found Rose abandoned and confused. She was wandering around alone on a busy road. They picked her up and tried to find out where she came from. Certainly, someone must be missing this sweet girl. Scanning for a chip was the obvious first

step, and it turned out she had one. Unfortunately, the people who she thought were her family no longer wanted her. Sarah and Sam weren’t going to put her back on the streets and began efforts to find her the loving home she deserved. That’s when Rose came to us. We had no idea what an impact her life would have. A couple of weeks after Rose was in our care, she began losing weight. We could not figure out why. She was eating but it seemed the nutrients were not being absorbed by her body. After numerous vet visits with tons of bloodwork, tests, and different diets, we were still stumped. Rose was becoming more and more malnourished. Our veterinarian decided that Rose would need extensive medical care, greater than what they could offer. She suggested NC State College of Veterinary Medicine where they have access to state-of-the-art equipment and in-depth treatment options. It was going to be incredibly expensive, however. We couldn’t watch Rose decline without giving it all we had so we looked for help. Our friend, Jessica, who loves animals as much as we do, asked friends and contacts for donations. The outcome was beyond belief. The community came together, and the donations flooded in. Rose’s surgeries and treatment cost over $17,000 and almost every penny of that was paid for by donated money. We had no rescue organization, no status that would allow those who donated to take a tax deduction. It was all in love. NC State discovered that Rose had a severe stricture in a very important part of her intestine. They performed surgery and we had high hopes, but Rose’s body was just too weak to recover. We brought her home where she got lots of cuddles and kisses and an absurd amount of Thanksgiving turkey before she rested for the last time. Her legacy of love lives on, however. Rose brought people together for a cause, to help those who are most vulnerable, the ones without a voice. We set up Rose’s Wish with the mission to aid animals in need, ones like Rose who would be unable to get essential care if not for support. 100% of donations go towards that goal.

Chad lived his life on a chain and when his family moved they left him out there with no food and little water. And this sweet boy is still looking for his forever home! He survived for 3 weeks before animal control picked him up. He ended up in an overcrowded shelter and was scheduled to be euthanized. We couldn’t let Chad’s whole life be one of pain and suffering so we picked him up. When we got him he had an infected ear, infected eye, injured leg, and a broken spirit. But you’d never know that now! He’s a perfectly healthy happy boy and he’s ready for his forever home! He’s neutered, up to date on shots, around 2 years old, and 40lbs. Chad is sweet and is good with kiddos and LOVES other dogs. Just look at the video!! He’s such a loving boy! He’s also house trained, crate trained, won’t get on the furniture, knows “back up” and “sit”. DM me if you think you and Chad are destined to be and will give him the loving indoor home he deserves.

Throwing this out there but is there anyone willing to foster a mom and pups if I cover all vet costs? I will also help to get all adopted. Mom is very sweet. I want to help them but I don’t have room so I just need a safe place for them to be until they are ready to be adopted.

ADOPTED!
Roxy was brought to a veterinarian’s office for boarding and her mommy never came back for her. ☹ After 3 weeks the staff at the vet came to terms with the fact that Roxy’s mom was not going to return, and Roxy ended up at an overcrowded shelter. Due to lack of space Roxy was scheduled to be euthanized, so we took her in. She is so sweet and affectionate. She loves to be in your lap. She walks great on a leash. Like most dogs, she is interested in squirrels and bunnies. She loves to stop and smell things. She’s crate trained and will sleep in her crate quietly all night. She loves food and treats so she’d be easy to train. She’s potty trained too. She’s just an all-around easy-go-lucky girl. She’s great with other dogs. She doesn’t understand cats and doesn’t want to live with any. Roxy is around 40lbs. If interested in giving Roxy the loving forever home she deserves, send us a private message!

She’s an absolute gem. She’s around 1 year old and a perfect size at about 35lbs. If interested in adopting Bingo, send us a message!

This is Woody! We took him in after he was scheduled to be euthanized. We couldn’t let that happen to this senior boy. He deserves a good life, especially since the first part doesn’t seem so great. Woody just needs a soft place to live out the rest of his years where someone will love him. He’s super sweet and house trained. Good with dogs, cats, all humans. Woody is around 62lbs (although he could stand to gain a little weight) and around 9 or 10 years old. If interested in giving Woody a life he deserves, send us a message!

This is Theo. He’s a little guy, only around 10 lbs. he came to us after his owner was going to dump him because he “had too many dogs.” We couldn’t let that happen to him so we decided to help him on his journey to finding his person. He is a cuddle bug and will follow his person to the ends of the earth. He’s sweet and good with kids and dogs and cats. He’s around 5-6 years old and house trained. Send us a message if you’re interested in being his number one.

ADOPTED!
This is Delilah. She came to us after we were contacted by a friend who became aware of her situation. The people who had her moved to a place that did not allow dogs. She had to live in the back of a truck for a while until the people placed her with family members. Unfortunately, the family members weren't very kind and did not feed her well. They ended up letting her out of the crate she was being kept in (outside!) and she was hit by a car! She ended up at Forsyth County Animal Shelter. When we realized the shelter had her we immediately said we'd pull her. She is safe and loved and comfortable now but the car hit caused some of her nerves to become detached. The vet expects that it will have to be amputated. We're giving it a couple of weeks before making the decision.

ADOPTED!
This is Canoe! Canoe came to us from the Randolph County Animal Shelter. They were out of room and could no longer house Canoe so we agreed to take her in. She is a fantastic girl. She is house trained and perfectly well behaved. Canoe is heart worm positive but otherwise a healthy happy girl. The vet said her organs are in tip top shape so they have not been damaged by the heart worms. She is only around 1 year old and super smart. She will begin heart worm treatment on May 21st. Her treatment will cost around $2,000, but she's worth it

Update: Vi is adopted! She's in a great home where she'll get all the attention and cuddles. She can even sleep in the bed and cuddle on the couch with her humans!
This is our current foster Vi. She is 2-years-old and around 55 lbs. She was surrendered to the shelter after her owner was no longer able to care for her. Radiographs revealed that she has a collapsed disc space between T8 and T9 and has a fracture off the base of her vertebrae. The vet suspects this is from an old injury to her spine. She has not let the injury affect her energy or heart of gold. Vi had a great report at the vet who said that her old injury doesn't seem to be causing her any pain or affect her quality of life. At times you can tell by the way she walks but it's a cute walk nonetheless. :)
