As you may have already noted, we opted to go to the ultimate air dog show versus the Great Lakes Portuguese Water Dog trials to socialize Maddie and Stardust this past weekend
An official dock is quite a distance off the water (2 feet - a bit more than backend of fishing boat) so it can be a little intimidating and more intimidating are
the big black shepherds and noisy dogs hyperactive due to the nature of this type of event.
This makes for a good event to acclimation and socialization exercises. Stardust and Maddie did well.
Maddie was very nervous around big reactive dogs that she’s never seen before. I was very proud of her because she looked for me rather than try to run off. That was a major accomplishment for her.. when she tried her first jump she actually jumped off the dock onto the slant board coming out of the pool and then jumped into the water kind of sort of what you call cheating …… hahaha …. This official dock is a little bit higher off the water than hers at home.
We slowly did small sessions working with her and she finally jumped completely, and we are very proud of that ………. progression will happen as she goes
Cedar Creek Portuguese Water Dog puppies this is Piper our little girl Piper and she is going out. We are feeding all the puppies individual now at this moment who we have available is Stardust and Waverley he will be going home here in a few days and then off everybody else is already going home and then we have Piper and Boomer and I’m still sitting on those two and for sure we’re gonna be keeping Piper and boomer I would like to show boomer and however, I am open to a show home for Boomer
