We let our flock free range during the day but their main feed is high in Omega 3 oils This means our eggs potentially contain up to 5x the Omega 3 levels of store bought eggs!

We let our young chicks into the enclosed run/coop area and outside for the first time on a nice warm day in May.

We finished our outdoor coop and enclosed run in May and let the growing chicks enjoy their new coop and roost bar. We have latches on all the doors and hardware cloth over every opening, extended 12" into the ground for any digging predators.

And so it began! We started off with day old hatchlings, 18 total, on the second week of April 2020. Being our first time keeping chickens, we expected to lose a few chicks and for a few of the chicks to be roosters......fast forward to today and we lost only 1 chick and ALL of them turned out to be hens!
