The other day I received the best present! My student painted this in oil for me of our late Trish Two Hearts. ❤️❤️ So incredibly thoughtful and I will treasure it! We still miss Trishy, but she has inspired so much here at Appy Acres- including why it’s called Appy (Appaloosa) Acres- and I remember her every day.
Our Appy Acres Fall Show registration is open! We will do the show in three different age groups and students can use our barn horses. First come first serve for registration though! We don’t have too many horses to share so make sure you get signed up asap. 😊

A few more epic pioneer days moments needed to be shared… Our stop at was way too fun on horseback! They were good sports serving us on horseback. Ogden Utah is a beautiful place- we are lucky to live here! I have some great photos of our group I’ll post on Facebook too- Instagram formatting won’t do them justice 💕.

Mountains. There’s nothing quite like being in the mountains. Whether they are pine tree covered and snow capped or full of sage brush and red rock. I’ll never grow tired of them.

I have so many fun events to catch up on posting! My favorite thing is doing parades! It’s what dreams (literally my dreams) have been made of lol. We had a great group and so appreciate the support from everyone. 🇺🇸 I need to post more photos- but here’s some of our riders and some of the cuties on the float!
Who wants to join us for the 2024 Founders Day Parade?? It will be next weekend, June 22nd in Pleasant View! We have a trailer float we’d love to fill with Appy acres friends! We will need some p**p scooping volunteers, candy passers, horseback riders, and trailer riders! Message me or comment for more info and to let me know you’d like to join us.

I’ll always yearn for the simple life. And this view in our pasture helps bring me back to that. It doesn’t get better than green grass, horses on pasture, and snow topped mountains.
It’s not every day you get to welcome an adorable mini horse filly into the world just moments after she is born! So grateful we got to board Miss Neika so we could share this special time. I’m sure this isn’t the last you’ll see of this cutie on my feed. 🥰

We are hiring! Positions that we are hiring for are riding instructors and stall cleaners 🐴🐴🐴
Job requirements for riding instructors:
- 18 or older
- 3-4 years of riding experience/can ride at an intermediate level
- Able to teach students from age 5 through adulthood
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Knowledge in safety practices around horses, arena maneuvers, tack, etc.
- Available to teach a few evenings and mornings a week with reliable transportation to get to work.
Job equipments for stall cleaners:
- 14.5 years old or older
- Some horse experience
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Can work 2-3 hours daily or 3-4 times a week
- Reliable transportation to barn

Lesson open house this Saturday from 10am- 12pm! This is for current students, prospective students, or anyone curious about our lesson program.
Come meet the instructors, meet a horse or two, fill out paperwork if you are signed up, and see if you can find some gear your size! If you have old tack/riding clothes/boots- to sell or donate, please drop them off before 10am Saturday.

Signs ups are OPEN! We only have ten spots for this equine first aid clinic! This is huge. If you work with horses AT ALL you know things can change fast with them. It’s important to be prepared so we can help them as best as we can. If you are interested in this course DM me or and we’ll get you added to the clinic April 20th (9am- 4pm). Your own horse is NOT REQUIRED. This course is a pre-requisite for either the Advanced Equine First Aid or Advanced Wilderness First Aid. We will be doing one of these courses in May!

Time to practice… how many “calming signals” can you see Dior doing? I.e. licking lips, sniffing, turning away, head ducking, etc. Each time a horse does that they are communicating that they are trying to diffuse or process the situation. Recognizing their body language is key to training, desensitizing, and building a bond with your horse! Notice how I try to take pressure off of her when her calming signals get strong, and then I reward her for maintaining a calm demeanor. 💗 She did so good!
