This position is for full time employment, Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm during the 3 month training period. Then the regular schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8 am to 6pm after the training period.
Experience is not required but is a plus

Collecting items to take to The Hope Mission on Saturday February 11th. You may drop off (NON-PERISHABLE ONLY) items at Century 21 Coastland Realty in Emerald Isle or the Emerald Isle BP Station or 70 West Veterinary Hospital. Donations will be accepted from Monday February 6th through Friday February 10th. Jeff Ward will take donated items Friday February 10th and deliver them to Hope Mission on Saturday where he will be working the soup kitchen. Times are not getting any easier. Living pay check to pay check is one thing, living day to day is another, but living meal to meal is something no one should have to do. Donations and Prayers are welcome and appreciated.
17 years ago we hired a contractor to maintain our floors and reduce the work load on the staff by keeping the office clean and tidy. Little did we know at that time that God would send us a truly special person that we are happy to consider an extended family member. James has always gone above and beyond for us and everyone he interacts with. His wife Gwen is a genuinely sweet and loving person. We cant say enough good things about this couple. We love them both dearly. Recently Gwen began her fight against breast cancer. They have a big family and Christmas is upon us. We would like to take this opportunity to have a fundraiser to bring some relief and peace of mind this holiday season for them. We all can use a little help some times.
The staff of 70 West Vet will be making and serving plates. We can and will also take cash donations at our office any time between now and the event if you feel that you would like to donate to this cause but are unable to attend the event.
The community has come together to make this possible and we want to send a special thank you to everyone that has graciously agreed to donate their time, materials, food and facilities.
Eddie of Hubert Grill will cook the barbecue and donate cole slaw.
Andy of Circle Pizza in EI is providing hush puppies.
Chapel by the Sea is providing catering items and other needs
Matt of Emerald club is letting us use his space for the event (parking lot) as well as tables, chairs, tents etc.
We could not have made this all happen without them.
Thank you in advance to each and every one of you that will show support for this cause wether you decide to buy a plate, donate, send prayers and/or share this post. It is Christmas, the most special time to see the community come together, show love and put a smile on the faces of people that need it most right now. Vet Assistant duties include: restraining pets, lifting prepping and moving sedated pets (prefer for employees to be able to lift near 50 pounds unassisted), assist with surgery, appropriately fill prescriptions, administer oral and injectable medications to pets, draw blood from pet, assist with radiographs, clean behind pets etc.
Employee must prioritize well, follow intricate instructions, spell correctly in medical charts, work well with coworkers and clients and have attention to detail. Pay is determined at time of hire and is based on experience.

UPDATE! OWNER FOUND
Hello everyone does anyone recognize this sweet fella? He was running around our office in the rain this morning and we would like to find his owners. He is a very sweet boy and he would definitely like to go home to his family. We will hold onto him for a little while today in hopes his owner reaches out but if we don’t hear anything from his family then we will see if animal control will come and pick him up.

Due to the recent drastic incline in covid cases locally, we have returned to curbside service temporarily. Please call ahead for refills when possible. Also, call us from the parking lot when you arrive for your appointment or to pick up medications/products. We are dedicated to doing what we feel will help keep our clients safe and our staff. The staff will still be loving on your furry family as always during their trip inside. Notes of concerns, questions and requests to be sent in are always welcome.
Luke (below) says that he was well taken care of, loved on and there were good treats yesterday while mom waited in the car.
Special note: we have been insanely busy. Whenever possible book your appointment for vaccines ahead of time and please remain patient as we try our best to get all of our furry friends taken care of in a timely manner.

Some think of us at holidays, some at random, all think of us first when your beloved pet needs us and we can't be more thankful that you choose us to care for them.
