The simplest and most effective way to keep pets safe during the solar eclipse is to keep them indoors. This shields them from the direct effects of the eclipse and reduces the risk of them being startled by the sudden darkness and potentially running away or injuring themselves.

A young lady came in to interview with us for a position as a Veterinary Assistant. As long as she was well fed, she was very pleasant and was really good for our team's morale. However, it became quickly apparent that she was not able to assist our team in the required responsibilities at all! We asked her to come back when she has a little more experience. 🤣😘

Because our clients seemed to like us having some weekend hours, we decided to keep some Saturday hours in our schedule. Starting this Saturday, we will be having hours in hospital on 2-3 Saturdays a month from 9-1!

There's a new vet in town, but certainly not a new vet to HousePaws! In fact, we're lucky enough to get the founding vet of HousePaws while Dr. Emily is out! Dr. Lisa started HousePaws in New Jersey many years ago and has actually been Dr. Emily's mentor prior to her even becoming a vet! She will be visiting us here to serve our patients throughout January and February, so if you get to see her, be sure to give her a warm Eastern Shore welcome! 😃

Many of you asked for an update...it's a 🩷 GIRL 🩷 !

Harper Isobel arrived two weeks early on December 10th. Dr. Emily and Harper are both doing great at home!

We appreciate your patience and understanding while Dr. Emily is out and our services are more limited. As a reminder, please call with any concerns regarding your pets so that we can direct you appropriately. Dr. Lisa from New Jersey will be coming down for in hospital appointments as well while Dr. Emily is out.

What do Dr. Emily and Bootsie have in common?

If you said that they're both expectant mamas, you'd be correct! 🥰

Boostie will be having her babies VERY soon. Dr. Emily is due at the end of December and because of that, she will be going on leave starting December 18th. If you would like your pets to see her before she goes out, please call us to get something set up soon! She should be back again at the beginning of March.

While she is out, Dr. Lisa from New Jersey will be coming down to see in hospital appointments throughout Dr. Emily's leave. When we have Dr. Lisa's schedule finalized, we will be sure to post again and send out an email with those dates. If you have any concerns or questions for your pets during this time, our office will be answering calls and email normally.
