Valued clients…We have recently seen an influx in canine upper respiratory cases. Most cases seem to be coming from multiple boarding and grooming facilities in our area and surrounding areas, including ours. If your dog is experiencing a cough, congestion (mucus), lethargy, and/or difficulty breathing, please consult your veterinarian and refrain from taking your dog into social areas such as boarding, grooming, dog parks, and pet stores for four weeks after symptoms appear. Most cases seem to be mild with dogs making a full recovery, however it is very contagious (primarily air borne) so keep your dog at home if it has any of the listed symptoms. Over the years, upper respiratory infections, both viral and bacterial, have commonly occurred. Currently we are experiencing a rise in these cases in the area and we are doing our part to educate our clients and minimize the spread. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office at (330)758-0568.

To our wonderful Hermitage Veterinary Hospital family –

We hope you and your families are doing well, and we greatly appreciate the care and concern that you have shown toward our doctors and staff over the past year.

Thankfully, we are happy to announce that we will be able to have clients in the building, effective 6-21-21, with the following safety precautions in place:

1) We will continue to admit patients over the phone to limit in-person exposure. Once your check-in is complete, a staff member will come out to your vehicle and es**rt you directly into an exam room, where you will wait for the duration of your appointment.
2) Masks that cover the nose and mouth will still be required for entry into the building, and we ask that anyone who is symptomatic remain in their vehicle. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you, and it must be worn for the entirety of your visit.
3) Unfortunately, the size of our exam rooms does not allow for social distancing, so we ask that only one member of the family es**rt the pet inside, even if we are seeing multiple pets from the same family. Exam rooms will be thoroughly disinfected between uses.
4) We will continue curbside service for tech appointments, surgery drop offs/ pick ups, drop off appointments, and medication and food pickups.
5) If you would still prefer to remain in your car during your pet’s exam, just let us know!
We also have a new addition to the Hermitage Veterinary Hospital as most of you may know. We acquired a hospital cat, named Croissant. He was found as a stray outside the hospital back in February and has stayed with us ever since. He is fully vaccinated and felv/fiv negative. Croissant loves everyone and every creature. We ask to please be mindful and patient that this will be new to him as well. Please let us know if you have a dog that is cat aggressive.
Again, we cannot tell you how much we have appreciated your support, concern, and flexibility during what has been an unprecedented time in both our community and our industry in general.

Warm regards,
The Hermitage Veterinary Hospital
