It’s time to introduce our latest litter, the Rock & Gem Litter from our girl Opal! 🪨💎

Let me start by saying that Opal is the most docile, chill, and obedient dog that we have! She is an absolute angel of a doodle and aims to please. She is such an attentive Mama too just like all our ladies! We adore her!

Because of Opal’s namesake (which comes from my Dad, who is a rock enthusiast), I have given her litter rock and gem themed names, and I’m obsessed! I should also mention that I thoroughly enjoy naming all our puppies, but still, these are so super cute!

Two weeks later, and the puppies have their eyes open and are walking around on all fours so I will get updated pictures of them in the next couple days, but here’s their debut. Here’s a little snippet about each:

⚡️ Bolt (male): He is expected to be about 50 pounds full grown and is a big teddy bear. Not only does he look the part, but he is cuddly and lovable too! He has a very well-balanced disposition.

🚨 Radar (male): He should be about 50 pounds and loves to snuggle too. He is playful like his brother Bolt but is also a big baby that will think he’s a lap dog. If you want a poodle sized-shadow, Radar may be your guy.

🌬️ Windy (female): Windy is one of our bigger females and should be 50 pounds as well. She is very engaging and responsive to people and will follow you around. We also tell her apart by the black dot on her nose.

🌅 Dawn (female): She’s been our tiniest girl from birth and will be about 40 pounds. She is so docile and gentle and easygoing, and she may have had her paws on the door when I stepped back inside to get something this morning. She has a big heart for a tiny girl.

💨 Gale (female): Also our little lady that should be 40 pounds as well. She shares much in common with her sister Dawn in size and personality. Gale is sweet-natured, calm, and curious and has a beautiful minimal Merle coloring.

These pups go to the vet on Friday, July 26th, and will be ready to go home the 27th. They are rocking potty training and also come with a 1 year health guarantee.

When your friend that is also a dog trainer comes to meet the puppies and says they’re all great options and you couldn’t go wrong with any of them, you beam with pride at how well-adjusted your puppies are! I love that our puppies truly are part of our family life, and that’s part of what makes them such great pets! They are just happy, healthy puppies, and what more could you ask for?! Oh yeah, they’re also stinkin adorable!

Speaking of adorable puppies, we still have 6 small standard poodle puppies looking for their forever families! There are 4 girls & 2 boys available. Gale and Dawn are on the smaller side while Bolt and Radar are our big boys. Windy and Sky are in the middle.

Discounted Poodle Pups! Read below!!! ⬇️

The Weather Litter has opened their eyes! Every time this happens, I sing that song “A Whole New World” from Aladdin because I’m a 90’s kid, and it has to feel so different to be able to see! We pick the puppies up, and they blank stare back at us like we haven’t existed in the past days when they were blind. This stage might just be my favorite of all! We still have several babies available from this litter!

The good news for you is that I’m discounting the entire Weather Litter this time only. Why you ask? Well I don’t really have a ton of poodle people flocking to my Goldendoodle page. It took a year or two to build up a reputation in the Goldendoodle world and for our puppies to speak for themselves where word-of-mouth brought in new families. Side note: Thank you a billion times over if you’ve referred a family to me to even shared a post. It means the world to me!

My prices in the beginning reflected that at the time and have increased based on my experience and knowledge, the training and exposure the puppies receive, and of course…the economy (🫠). But my pricing has stayed the same for 2 years now. I feel it is fair, and many families will tell you that I have creatively worked out payment plans for families that need it so they can get their puppy! While the Weather Litter is just as healthy and will receive the same care and training as our doodles, I know there is a slow process to bringing in people for a different breed.

Vet visit day for the Mountain Litter!

It’s always a bit chaotic getting them to and from the vet along with my gaggle of kids, but this deeper wagon has been a life saver, and the kids love to help hold, transfer, comfort, and care for the puppies.

…And the puppies are always so, so good! The vet always compliments how easygoing and chill they are on the exam table, and it’s because they get handled often before they go home. They love the sq**rt cheese as a treat and don’t even flinch during the shots either. We’re so proud to show off our babies! 🏆

I’m considering a name change. Since I’ve added poodles into our program, it only makes sense to add that to the title so it’s not confusing. However, Delta & Nora Goldendoodles and Poodles is a mouthful.

What you don’t know (because I’ve never shared it before) is that there is meaning behind my current name. Delta and Nora were our first Golden Retrievers that began this business. I originally only meant to get one puppy, but they’re so irresistible that I got two. The intention was to be named “Delta Doodles”, but apparently there’s already a breeder with that name so I added in Nora. Probably should have checked that first, but who would have thought?!

Anyways, words and names have always been important and intriguing to me. Delta means “change” and is signified by a triangle in mathematics, which is seen in my logo. I needed a change at the time, and that’s exactly what those two little fireballs, I mean furballs, brought. Nora means “light”, which is why the triangle is gold with streaks of light through it. Again, I felt like these two puppies were a light for our family. I still love the meaning, and it still holds true even though Delta and Nora are no longer having puppies. I’ve also since added poodles so I feel like I’m on the brink of something fresh.

I’m considering switching to Dottie Doodles & Poodles in the future. Dottie is Delta’s daughter that will continue her lines and legacy, and I chose a name with a “D” for a shout out to her Mom. Dottie’s name means “gift of God”, and my kids would laugh if I told them that because Dottie is our constant fence escape artist. She is absolutely a gift but is also a smart little cookie that keeps us on our toes so definitely a surprise gift! I 100% God has blessed this endeavor despite the occasional rollercoaster that comes with the territory of breeding.

So should I work on a name change? Should I keep Delta & Nora? It would have to be a slow change because I’m afraid I’ve established a reputation with my current one. Maybe I’d keep the gold triangle? So much to consider! I’m on the fence, but at least I haven’t escaped it like Dottie does… 😉

It’s Sierra & Everest…our last two F1 Goldendoodles available from the Mountain Litter.

If you would have told me 10 years ago that I would be have a litter of poodles and will have fallen in love with the breed, I would have thought you were crazy, but it’s true!

Stormy, their Mom, has given me a whole new perspective on poodles. She is so loving, smart, docile, patient, happy, gentle, and friendly. My favorite thing is when she sticks her nose under my hand for me to pet her, but she also leans or lays the side of her head on my leg when she wants to cuddle. It so human-like, and I know she thinks she’s one of us. She is the best kind of dog because they become like family!

Her babies are 8 days old today, and they are happy and healthy. Bolt and Radar are definitely chunkier than their sisters, and Dawn and Gale remain our tiny tots with Rainbow in close proximity to their size. They’ll all be around 40-50 pounds and will be the curliest, cutest little allergy-friendly puppies on the planet. If you have dog allergies, these puppies are for you!

A pile of poodles! Yes, you read that correctly, it’s our first ever litter of poodles…10 to be exact! All of them are girls except for the two apricot boys that are apparently going to be mini Dashes and look like their Dad. 🤎 The rest are Mama’s girls! 🖤🩶🤍

The color palette is absolutely stunning, and it felt like Christmas morning because we’ve never had merle puppies before! It also felt like Christmas morning because I could hardly sleep since I knew they were on their way soon. Too much excitement!

I truly don’t know where our tiny Mama packed all of these babies. Swipe to see her when I took her out to go potty after they were born. Stormy is so proud of herself, and I really believe she wanted her own litter after being a second Mom to so many others. She is an outstanding poodle, and we adore her!

Puppies Available!!! ⬇️

The kids and I went on vacation for a few days and left the puppies in (several) very capable hands. It was a much needed escape from everyday life, and it led to a sweet reunion with the dogs and puppies when we returned. In the words of my husband, who routinely helps cares for our furry friends, “I think they’re just sad when you’re gone. They just seem so much happier when you’re here.” It’s nice being the favorite person of all our dogs. 😏🥰

The Mountain Litter has really come to life! We get to hear their little yips and yaps as they run around and play with each other. They’re like little toddlers learning to walk because they’re still a little unsteady on their feet as they waddle around, but they are enjoying exploring! Yesterday, they followed Mom down a slope on our hill, and I tried calling them to come back up to see if they could figure it out. Instead they all sat there and cried until I scooped them up and carried them back to the top. It was like 10 feet. 😂 I’d give it a week before they would be able to do it on their own because they change so drastically over a day/week!

While the A Litter continues to romp around outside, the Mountain Litter is getting up on all fours and demanding that Maggie feed them constantly with their little whimpers and yelps (and Maggie is so good at being a patient and steadfast Mama).

All their eyes are open, and we are starting to see their personalities emerge. These two females are still available and looking for their forever families!

🩷 First picture is Sierra! She is middle range on the small standard size expecting to be about 50 pounds. She has a beautiful coat where the tips of her hair are almost frosted.

💛 Second picture is Everest! She is our smallest of the bunch and should be about 40-45 pounds. She’s our tiny girl! She has a solid apricot coat.

Both are ready to go home on June 24th, will have their first round of shots with a vet check-up, and will have begun potty training and crate training. They’ll also be exposed to some rambunctious but very loving kids (my own 🤪) and our adult dogs. I can guarantee you won’t have any dog-free time if they’re around as our dogs tend to be people shadows.

Why get one of our Goldendoodles?

For starters, I truly believe Goldendoodles are the perfect combination of two top-notch breeds. The Golden Retriever, which is known for being happy-go-lucky and friendly to everyone, is the American icon of a family dog. But they shed. And shed. And shed some more. We adore our Golden Retrievers Maggie and Georgia, but right now the spring shedding is out of control. There’s golden glitter EVERYWHERE. The car, the clothes, the furniture, the floor. It even floats in through the air. 😱

On the flip side, the Poodle also has its own amazing qualities that it brings to the table: They’re highly intelligent and trainable, unwaveringly loyal to their people, and they have tight, curly coats that produce no shedding. Combine those two breeds with a reputable breeder who does proper health testing and is invested in the care and training in the first weeks of life, and you’ve got yourself the perfect companion: a Goldendoodle!

This is Rocky, a male F1 Goldendoodle that is looking for his forever home on June 24th. He will be about 55 pounds of pure sweetness with a wavy coat and will make the greatest sidekick. We also have his two sister available as well (see previous post).

It’s time to highlight the Mountain Litter! I particularly love this litter theme because we have the most perfect view of the Blue Ridge Mountains on our way home from town when the sun is setting with yellows, oranges, pinks, and purples against the blues of the mountains. On the other side of the road is our local hiking spot, Baker’s Mountain, which is where Baker gets his name! I absolutlely love the NC mountains!

Anyways, the Mountain Litter is growing rounder by the minute thanks to Mama Maggie. They are fat and happy, just the way I like them! Some eyes are starting to peep open at the corners, and they’re able to almost get up on all fours as they move around the whelping box. Sometimes they’re all snuggled in a pile, and other times they like to lounge on their bellies or sides. We can’t wait to watch them grow more and start interacting with us!

The “A Litter” is doing so well! They explored outside for the first time today, and they are cracking us up as their personalities are starting to show. Asher is definitely the go-getter and adventurer of the group. Almond, the biggest puppy, is also a leader but isn’t quite as fast as her little sister. Archie was the first one to p**p outside (and in the mulch!) so he gets all our praise. He seems to like to observe first and then commit. Arlo is chill and calm and likes to stay nearer to us. They’ve all found their voices, and right now it’s pretty cute when they let out their little yaps. They know where Mom is at all times, and they let her know when they’re hungry. Likewise, they let us know when they want some attention too!

With all that excitement, I do have to share that little Aspen is no longer with us. Exactly two weeks ago, I noticed her not eating, and I immediately jumped into action to get some fluids in her. After a couple of hours with no progress, I whisked her off to my trustworthy emergency vet an hour away. After observation and with her young age, they recommended we put her down, and while heart-wrenching, I agree that it was the right thing to do. I hate this part of my job that happens every so often for unknown reasons, but I know that I’m giving our puppies the best possible love and care that I can, and I have to leave the rest up to the sovereignty of God.
