Brooks Gunner is an AKC Boxer from Music City Boxers out of Nashville. He found himself in a shelter in Tennessee where a sweet lady adopted him in hopes of giving her dog a friend to hang out with. Unfortunately, the original doggo has been VERY mean to Brooks (you can see wounds healing on his head). Brooks is a sweet boy who is crate trained. He is good with cats and other dogs, although a meet and greet with your dogs will be required beforehand.

Jax has found his way to a farm home where unfortunately he isn’t doing so well. Jax isn’t a farm dog for obvious reasons as he has killed several chickens. He is very loving and sweet, assertive. Calm when taking a bath and when getting trimmed. He hasn’t been groomed yet. He’s very smart and easily trainable. He is house trained and goes in his crate when told. We are unsure if he’s good with cats, but is great with dogs and children!

If you’re interested in Jax, please reach out to us and I will put you in touch with his current owner. There is a rehoming fee of $300 to ensure he goes to a great and loving home where he won’t have the opportunity to kill anymore chickens! 🐾❤️

Story: Snow was surrendered with her 3 kittens due to owners moving away. (Kittens will also be up for adoption soon!) Snow is a VERY sweet and lovable girl. She has finally finished nursing her kittens and was recently spayed and vaccinated so she is finally ready to find her new home! She’s not huge on other cats, but she has started to warm up to ours. She seems comfortable around dogs as well. She is solid white with gorgeous green eyes! We had her ear tipped as well to ensure it’s known she is spayed.

Effects of Tropical Storm Debby are expected to impact Wythe County late this week. Wythe County Dog Shelter reminds citizens to ensure that their animals are safe and protected from the elements.
The Shelter is currently full and under a Code Red status. If your animal runs stray, there may be no space to house them. Please be safe and responsible. If you have questions, please reach out by calling 276-228-6003.

They are love bugs that want to steal your heart and all of your attention. They LOVE to run and play, but would prefer to be in your arms. They follow me everywhere and want me to hold and kiss them until I can’t anymore. 🥰

We’ve had a lot of people reach out about stray animals. As the FINDER of any animal, it’s your responsibility to first check for a microchip (vet clinics can do this for you) and post on all the local Facebook groups in search of owners and report the missing animal to the local shelter within 72 hours.

After 5 (FIVE) days, the stray animal is then considered yours.

We are currently not taking any owner surrenders.

If you have a tortoise or another pet that “isn’t the norm” that needs to be kept safe while you’re away, please reach out! We have experience with Chinchilla’s, Sugar Glider’s, Ferrets, Bunnies and other critters. However, we will always turn away pet cockroaches.🤣

Duo Pair: Hansel & Gretal
Neutered/Spayed: Yes - Both
Vaccinated: Fully vaxed!
Hansel & Gretal are both searching for their forever home - together. ❤️ They came to us in February all the way from Kentucky! Their story has made me cry so many times. Their owner died in a TERRIBLE car crash and left them behind to fend for themselves. This is where the story gets better. They found a wonderful group of people at a local warehouse who kept them on their work property and cared for them until they could find help. They graciously got them vaccinated and housed safely until they found us!

Gretal had a beautiful litter of 7 healthy puppies in April and has fully weaned them and has been spayed recently so we can FINALLY find them their forever home! She has an old lady demeanor and truly just wants to cuddle on your lap.

Hansel is a little more rambunctious and wants to play ALL day! They would make great perimeter dogs to look after your property as they don’t like unexpected visitors. I would not suggest them to be around smaller children. It takes a little bit of warming up to new people for them before they feel comfortable.

They are good with other dogs and cats. Have been around chickens, but not sure they wouldn’t eat them. 😅🐾
