Hey everyone we would like to introduce Winnie! She came to us a few days ago a very sick little kitty. The couple who found her had been caring for her but with their work schedules it was hard to give her the medication she was on and take care of her needs as well. Winnie has coccidia and it is a highly contagious disease, but also can be deadly to kittens. The couple got her immediate vet care that no doubt has kept her alive and doing as well as she is. She had such uncontrollable diarrhea that we cleaned her crate almost hourly and went through lots of potty pads. Her photo was taken yesterday in her crate because of her illness. She has had to be bathed often as well. Today is the first day that she has not had to have a bed change or a bath! She is starting to get better but she continues to have some diarrhea. At least it is no longer watery and that is a big plus. Winnie is 7 weeks old and will be going to Pet Placement Center once she is completely well and spayed. She is not ready for any applications to be taken for her at this time. We will keep you updated on her and when she will be available for adoption. Miss Betsy Ross has turned into a real beauty! She will be getting her spay in a few weeks and will be up for adoption at Pet Placement Center. If you would be interested in this sweet girl you can fill out an application at the Pet Placement Center website and be sure to let them know you want Betsy. She has been with other kitties and a large dog. She’s shy with children but would do well with them. This sweet girl deserves a very loving home.

Hey y’all meet Eclipse. This little girl was brought to us by a lady who found her so emaciated she was sitting on the side of the road in pouring rain and had no energy to move. She scooped her up and called us for help. She only weighed barely a pound, had watery diarrhea and white gums. I just wasn’t sure we could save her. Because of her condition we decided not to take many photos of her. She does have a few scars where an animal mauled her but those are healing up nicely. Eclipse is almost 3 pounds now. She loves her dry food. The diarrhea has cleared up and she has had her deworming and first vaccines. Here is our first video of her. She’s very shy but here she is playing in my husband’s office. She is doing so well here. Thank you to the lady who rescued her. She’s alive because of you.

Twig went in for his first vaccine today. He is doing so much better and gaining weight much better. His constipation is under control finally. He is such a sweet boy! He’s been getting lots of extra loving with the loss of Caesar. I still miss him so much.

This is our foster baby Caesar. Today he crossed the rainbow bridge. This little guy is special to my heart. We have fought constant diarrhea for almost two weeks and today his little body could take no more. The vet said she suspected he had a problem internally at birth. Our hearts are broken by this loss. We will never forget you sweet little man. Rest In Peace.

Our little Betsy Ross is growing up so fast! This little girl has a wonderful personality and has learned to play. She will be transitioning to can food soon but still has her bottle for now. We have added baby food to her formula and she is loving it. Her coat is so beautiful and her colors are just gorgeous. You don’t see too many pastel calico’s around but this girl is a beautiful one!

Meet Caramel. This sweet girl is a real love bug! She was found by a couple and brought to us since they couldn’t keeep her. She is not a fan of dogs but does great with other cats and people. She is approximately 10 weeks old and will be ready for adoption soon. She will be a great addition to any family.

Update on Eclipse
This little girl is a fighter! She eats very well and I no longer have to hand feed her. She is transitioning from baby food to can food and eats dry as well. She’s finally taking in water as she should so I no longer have to keep her hydrated. I still give kitten lyte as a precaution. Her diarrhea is so much better and she is now up to 1.5 pounds! She is such a sweet kitten. Thank you to everyone who has been rooting for this precious girl. Keep up the prayers she still needs them.

Eclipse is beginning to gain weight and her runny diarrhea is gone. She still has a loose stool but it is close to resolving. She is eating very well on her own. She has gone from 1.2 lbs to 1.3 lbs in the last three days. That’s a win for this girl considering she had nothing going for her when we got her. Way to go baby girl!

Meet Eclipse. This poor girl is in horrid shape. She was found on the side of the road while it was pouring rain by a young lady who was across the street getting an oil change and happened to notice this poor kitten just sitting there. She is so emaciated the poor girl just has no strength. She is so badly malnourished I am having to hand feed baby food every two hours. She has watery diarrhea as well so put her on some kitten lute and rebound recuperative. I also have put her on a probiotic. Please keep this little one in your prayers as she has a long road ahead of her and at this point we can only do our best to save her. She is in critical condition right now but she has a chance if we can pull her through the next week or so.

Just look at how much little Betsy Ross has grown in a week! She is doing great and grows more every day. We want to give another shoutout to the couple who saved this little cutie and to Pet Placement Center for taking her when she’s ready for adoption. We are officially her foster now and we are loving this little girl with us.
I know times are tough for everyone but I want to encourage you to donate to your local shelters and rescues. They can’t do this great work without you! If you can’t donate items or money then volunteer or foster. Everyone is needed to help babies like this one to survive and find good homes. Thank you to all of you who do what you can.

Meet our newest baby Betsy Ross. This sweet little girl is not quite 2 weeks old yet. Her eyes are open now and she is nursing well. We gave her a checkup upon arrival and she appears to be healthy. We wanted to thank the couple that found her and have been trying to care for her until we got her. They did a good job with her. We also want to thank them for the donation to help with her care. This is our sweet mama Waffles and her 4 surviving babies, Sausage, Marmelade, Maple and Scone. Waffles is only a year old, but this girl has rocked as a mom. We did, unfortunately lose one of the babies as they were born a few weeks early and one of them just didn’t develop enough to make it despite our best efforts to save him. We had them for 4 weeks and then sent them to another foster, while we took on 4 bottle babies that were without their mother for at least 24 hours. Poor darlings were starving, had eye issues and a clear nasal discharge. They have been in our care for three days now. They are nursing well, have no more nasal discharge and their eyes are clearing up. They are about 3-4 weeks old.

Now here is our problem…..the shelters are over run with kittens! This kitten season is already overwhelming for everyone and we are trying to do our part to help. The shelters and rescues are hurting for supplies and we need your help! We are in dire need of powdered formula, puppy potty pads, kitten can food and litter. We have a sweet mama and her 5 newborns in our care. No photos yet. We want to keep this young mother calm. She is caring very well for her babies so far. She is only a year old herself. Hey y’all! Believe it or not kitten season is not too far away and we have already begun! First we got in a litter of three and then a single kitten. Last year was just horrific for all the shelters and rescuers as kittens came out of the woodwork and every facility was overflowing. We even took in 14 litters which is way over our limit and we still had to turn down at least that many more since we just had no room. Thankfully Pet Placement Center and the Humane Educational Society took most of our kittens and found them all homes. HES couldn’t take any at the shelter but they did take some of our litters on transport and they all got fabulous homes! We want to encourage everyone who turns in kittens to try and help with some kind of donation to a shelter or rescue. Without the community giving toward the animals care it is difficult to give them the very best care we can. Since we are independent as a rescue all the burden is on my husband and myself. Last year we put a few thousand dollars taking care of our kittens and making sure they were healthy. It costs a minimum of $250 per kitten to get them fed, medications, vaccines and spay/neuter. That does not include medications and vet care if they become ill. This coming season please help your local shelters and rescues by donating either items from their wish lists or money. We have a wishlist on Amazon if you would like to help us. Pet Placement Center and the Humane Educational Society also have wishlists with Amazon and Chewy. I will be posting pictures of our current babies shortly. We want to thank those who have donated to us this past year. It was very helpful and desperately needed.

Meet Apple Dumpling. She will be going in to Pet Placement Center next week and is up for adoption. This little girl was born an only kitten and her sweet mama had little to no milk so she had to be bottle fed. Her mama cared for her and let her nurse on her so all we had to do was supplement feedings. She has grown so beautifully and is ready to go once she is done with her meds in a few days. She caught a little cold that she is almost over. If you would be interested in her you can go to Pet Placement Centers website and fill out an application for her.

This sweet old girl was living in horrible conditions with a severely disabled owner. We were able to enlist the help of Pet Placement Center to give her a chance to live out her life with a good family. She has received vet care and given a good bath. She was infested with fleas, losing fur from the fleas and has lost several teeth, but she is so sweet and cleaned up. This girl is a purebred Himalayan so we were concerned that she could end up in a bad situation if she just went to ant home and no checkups were made to ensure she would get a good home. We went in and got her and are working to trap 2 other cats that are feral. If you would be interested in this sweet old girl go to Pet Placement Centers website and fill out an application for her. Merry Christmas from our family to yours. Kitten season has finally wound down and we are all breathing a sigh of relief for getting through this past year with kittens over flowing everywhere. We currently have 3 foster babies that we are caring for. They belong to Pet Placement Center. One is our sweet Apple Dumpling(pictured). She is going in for her spay this next week and then she will be up for adoption. If you are interested in her you can fill out an application at Pet P,acement Centers website.

We also have two sweet kittens that are sick with an intestinal bacterial infection. We are treating them for it and hope they get back on track. They are Chris Cornell and Amy Winehouse. Poor Chris has lost a lot of weight from the infection and constant diarrhea. He’s almost emaciated to the point of no return, but he is now slowly gaining weight. They won’t be up for adoption for awhile yet.

These three sweet boys are ready for their forever homes. Panda, Marmelade and Tuxie have all been neutered, given all kitten shots and their rabies vaccine as well as all their deworming. They have tested negative for the FiV/FeLV and have been given a good bill of health by a vet. If you are interested in one of these babies send us your email address and we will email an adoption application to you.

These boys are no longer available. They have been taken on transport with HES. Thank you to the staff at HES for helping these boys find their forever homes.

My three boys will be available for adoption on October 31st. Adoption fee includes neuter, kitten vaccines, rabies vaccine and FIV/FeLV tested. They have also been dewormed. They are great with other cats and dogs and have sweet dispositions. Adoption fees are $75 per kitten and you must fill out an application. This is Miss Saki and her brother Rickshaw Bob. These are two of the four semi ferals we had gotten in earlier this summer. Sumi and Suki were adopted together today! Yea! These are the two we have left. Both are scared of people and Saki is still hissy so we are looking for special homes for these two. If you would be interested in adopting contact us and we will send an application to you via email. Our usual fee is $150 per kitten but we are willing to work with someone who is willing to give a good home to one or both of these babies. Meet four cuties we have had for a few weeks. They are 8 -8.5 weeks old. These babies will not be adopted out until we can take them enough to be ready for homes. They have been examined by our vet and given a clean bill of health. They are Suki (male), Sumi (female,left), Rickshaw Bob (male), and Saki aka Hissafit (female). They are all coming along well even Miss Hissafit. We cannot cuddle her yet but we can finally pick her up without gloves. These babies were with their mother until we got them so they are not used to people. Their mother is feral and was spayed and released back in her area. Here’s a short video of our little cuties Tuxie, Panda and Marmelade. They are doing so well and currently are in the midst of litter training. We cover the couch with litter pads and then I put their litter pan on the couch with them. They still have some accidents but otherwise do a great job using the box.

This is a difficult post, but I feel I need to do it. I am seriously heartbroken today. I got up at 3 am to feed my bottle babies only to discover my sweet Linx (right) had fallen from a perch and suffered a broken neck and died. He was around 10 weeks old. We have had these two since they were about 2.5 weeks old. Linx was my love bug and I will miss him terribly. He was due to go in to HES today with his sister Minx pictured here with him and papa. I’m just sick with grief at the moment. I have never had this happen in all my years of rescue and fostering. I have had almost no sleep. Every time I would close my eyes all I could do was play the what if game in my head. We will get through this tragedy, but please pray for us and our current fosters and rescues as well. I will be fine, but I am asking for everyone to give me a few days to grieve and get back on my feet. It helps having my babies to care for and to love on. Thank you to all of you that do this work. I appreciate you all so much.

Meet Tuxie, Panda and Maemelade. These three boys are only three weeks old and really small for their age. They were rescued by a couple that couldn’t keep them and reached out to us to see what we could do. So far they are doing well and gaining weight slowly. All of them are very sweet and purr like a well oiled motor. These cuties won’t be ready for adoption for awhile but we are going to need some items to get them to that point. Our little Sparkles isn’t very big but she has a big attitude. She is very active and doing so well. It’s hard to believe she’s 6 weeks old already and she is tiny for her age. It will be awhile before she is ready for adoption but she’s getting there.

Here is our little Sparkles feeling and doing so much better. She s no longer constipated and she is nursing well and gaining weight. She is starting to play now too and loves that green fluffy ball. She has a little play time after she nurses and then goes back into the incubator. With her health getting better after she had such a rough time we are protecting her as much as we can. She’s going to be such a special love bug for the right family.

Meet Sparkles. She is about 3 1/2 to 4 weeks old. Poor baby is very constipated so we are working on getting her regular. She is nursing and doing well otherwise. She is a bit thin, but has a good weight. Please keep our sweet girl in your prayers. We will update everyone later as to how she is doing.

Yesterday we took this little girl in. She was covered in fleas, extremely dehydrated,very underweight from starvation and her eyes were practically glued shut. It took a half an hour to bathe the fleas off of her. Once she was cleaned up and her eyes treated we tried to feed her but she wasn’t interested. So we needed doing tube feedings. This poor baby was in such poor condition it was amazing she was alive at all. Her four siblings had already passed. Around 7:00 am this morning Lady Liberty passed over the rainbow bridge. She just had no fight left in her and nothing we did helped her other than to make her more comfortable and love her.
Please spay and neuter your pets. If you know of feral’s in your area call your local shelter and ask for help getting them fixed. Help us prevent any more senseless suffering and deaths of these precious babies.

Our little Catalina is the sweetest pocket baby. She is making great strides. She is gaining weight daily and nurses well. She is taking in more and more of of her formula every day getting up to the point she should be. She is actually playing and cleaning herself. And like a big girl she is using the litter box. She is such a sweet little girl. The best news is that The Humane Educational Society has taken her on. She will stay with us and be fostered until she is ready to go up for adoption. A huge shout out to Emilee Johnson for her role in getting her there. HES is always willing to lend a hand if they are able. We appreciate them so much. Today we took in a single kitten that is approximately 3 weeks old. She is a little thin and has some mild dehydration, but otherwise seems healthy. She will be quarantined for 2 weeks from other kittens. We never know if there is a condition or illness just lurking out of site and then suddenly rears its ugly head. This way she is protected as well and it will give her a chance to recover some weight. So far she will not nurse formula, so we are doing a mixture of baby food with some formula. She sucks that right down, but being without food for a few days we are being careful not to over feed and we will feed her a little more often than she should normally need. I hope to post some photos in the next few days, but we are very busy, so bear with us. We have named this little girl "Catalina" since she was found under a car hood. I didn't want to name her Cadillac, so came up with Catalina. Keep this sweet baby in your thoughts and prayers.

We are of course always in need of formula, potty pads, and kitten food (can and dry). If you can help we do have a wish list for this rescue. Thank you to the ladies who cared enough to bring this baby to us.

These two sweet babies are not doing well at the moment. They suddenly decided they don’t want to eat. Linx acts like his little tummy hurts so I am going to try to check with a vet. Our fundraiser did not go well so funds are very limited. Hopefully it will not cost too much but vet care can be very expensive. Please help if you can. Here’s one of our sweet babies we are caring for right now. This little girls name is Minx. She and her brother were dumped along with three other older kittens. Minx and her brother Linx are only 2 weeks old. They will be in our care for several weeks and will need vaccines, deworming treatments and of course spaying /neutering when the time is appropriate. First I want y’all to know we changed the name because it is hard for us to do newborns now. With no help and health issues we are still taking kittens and of course we will take newborns if we can, but it is difficult trying to do feedings every two hours. We are taking kittens 2 weeks and older or we will do newborns if we have the mother.

Having said that we are in great need at this time for some items. We currently have a litter of 4 babies that are 7 weeks old...a litter of 4 babies that are 5 weeks old...a litter of 3 that are 3 weeks old and a litter of 2 that are 10 days old. The last two litters were dumped on the doorstep. We have no idea where they came from or what their story is. We are in great need of the following.

Here are ways you can help this kitten season. Please help us as many of us are either filled to capacity or close to it. We need others to step up and help care for these babies. I will even train you and I know others who will step up to help train you.

Also we run on donations or we have to pay out of our own pockets. You can help by donating items we need and money for vet care. Please read the following........

If you have seen a clutch of newborn kittens please watch for the mama... for at least 3-5 hours. If the kittens are fat, clean and healthy then mama is around!

If the kittens are some place dangerous and you choose to intervene you will need the following knowledge. Please click on the links so you will know what to do as well as keeping these things in mind.

1) Do not feed cold kittens, kitten must be fully warm before they are fed.

2) Kittens will DIE if you feed them cows milk. Get kitten formula or goats milk and warm before feeding.

3) Kittens MUST be kept warm, blankets are best, newspapers in a small box in a serious pinch as you transport them home.

4) Kittens under 4 weeks need to be stimulated to p**p and p*e with each feeding.
